Boston College junior LB Luke Kuechly and Oregon junior RB LaMichael James have announced they will be entering the 2012 draft.

Kuechly, a two-time All-America selection who led the nation with 191 tackles in 2011 is considered to be a potential late first round selection this year depending on how fast he runs at pre-draft testing.

Meanwhile, James ran for over 1,800 yards this fall despite missing a couple of games with an elbow injury, but could last well into the second day of the draft as he isn‘t all that big at just 5-8, 185.

ASU QB confirms draft entry ... Arizona State junior QB Brock Osweiler has formally announced that he will be leaving school this winter and entering the 2012 draft.

The 6-8 Osweiler threw for over 4,000 yards and 25 TDs this fall and projects as a second-day pick this coming April.

Hokie HB headed to NFL ... Virginia Tech junior RB David Wilson announced this morning that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2012 draft.

Wilson is a second-day prospect who is expected to be one of the first 4-5 RBs off the board this coming April.

Badger C to enter draft ... Wisconsin junior C Peter Konz has reportedly decided to leave school and enter the 2012 draft.

The 6-5, 315-pound Konz is considered to be the top C in college football and a possible late first round pick this coming April.

Owls RB enters draft ... Temple junior RB Bernard Pierce has announced he will entering the 2012 draft where he figures to be a mid-round pick.

The 6-0, 220-pound Pierce ran for almost 1,500 yards and 27 scores this fall despite missing one game with a concussion and being slowed in a couple of others with a hamstring problem.

I don't see James lasting until the 2nd day, unless the NFL goes with the ridiculous format of 1st round on Friday, 2-3 rounds 0n Saturday, and 4-7 on Sunday.  I hate that format.

I think James is anywhere from mid/late first to mid second round.  He's been very productive.

Mike Tice has close ties to the Wisconsin program...  and is very high on Carimi who was also a Badger.

19 is too high for C but a few spots lower... if he's really that good...

It would just really depend on who else is on the board at that time, as well as, how much Tice and the new GM think Garza has left in the tank AND if the believe we already have our C of the future in-house in Chris Spencer or if Spencer is going to stay at G from here on out.

My philosophy on 1st round picks is well known -- i.e., your 1st round pick needs to be a starter a solid contributor from Day One.  The 1st round is not where you go after a project that's going to need two seasons of development before he's ready to play.  Nor is the 1st round where you draft for "depth" when you are without NFL caliber starting talent at other positions. So since it's highly unlikely that Konz would crack the starting lineup as a rookie, I would have to consider that a questionable pick even if we did trade down a few spots.

Lots of good discussion on Oline.

Personally I think we are improving and 1 or 2 pieces and we could really be set for quite awhile.

Webb struggled but don't forget he is young and gaining experience.  I do think either drafting an LT high or bring in QUALITY LT would be wise...I kind of lean toward drafting.

Really think we need to draft an OG with one of either our 2nd or 3rd round (2) picks.

I think Louis (ROG) and Carimi (ROT) are the right side of the line next year.  I think Garza stays at C.  I think that Spencer becomes backup C/OG.  Chris Williams battles it out with rookie OG on left side for starter/backup spots.  Rookie or FA LT; with Webb as backup swing tackle.

I personal think it will be 1st round Rookie LT: Williams: Garza: Louis: Carimi

With Rookie OG, Spencer and Webb as backups.  That would be a nice Oline I believe.

The 2nd round pick would be CB, the other 3rd would be LB, 4th S.

Under this scenario FA #1 WR's is a must.  I personally would like to see that person be Dwayne Bowe or Marques Colston.

Please use the 2012 draft topic so it can fall to the bottom.

I was not able to find anyway to rename topics or to lock them.  Perhaps I do not have full administrative rights but creating new topics was the best solution I could come up with.

I'd be OK with either - you'd think KC would sign or franchise Bowe - not so sure of Colston.
