Jeremy Langford - RB - Spartans
ESPN NFL Insider Jon Gruden says Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford "is a guy I really like" and adds "I don't understand why we don't hear his name more."
"He ran a 4.4. He gained 100 or more yards in every Big Ten film I watched. He breaks tackles, he picks up blitzes and he looks like an NFL back for sure," Gruden said. "He is tough, he can catch, he has home run speed and I love the way they train guys at Michigan State." The 6-foot, 206-pounder collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries last season. Langford "can fit in any scheme, but he might be best in a traditional power running game," according to ESPN's Todd McShay.

Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford "can fit in any scheme, but he might be best in a traditional power running game," according to ESPN's Todd McShay.
"He does a good job of pressing the line of scrimmage and working laterally until a hole opens up, and he's very sudden with the ability to make defenders miss once he finds a crease," McShay wrote. "He isn't very powerful, but he runs behind his pads and is just a grinder." The 6-foot, 206-pounder collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries last season. "Most smaller backs wear down with a lot of carries, but on tape I saw him get stronger as the game went on," McShay wrote. "He needs to get more consistent as a pass-catcher because the team that drafts him is going to want to get him the ball in space and let him make plays."

NFLDraftScout.com's Frank Cooney advises: "Draft [Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford] in the third round and let him be hellacious on special teams while he buys time to prove once again that he is underrated as a running back."
"Langford runs with a combination of patience and moves reminiscent of Warrick Dunn, but has a surprisingly fast shift of gears that leaves defenders on a wrong tangent," Cooney wrote. "As a pass catcher, well, MSU actually penciled him in as a receiver before he made his case as a running back. He has a long ways to go to be trusted as a pass blocker." The 6-foot, 206-pounder collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries last season. "My technique, pass blocking, and being able to run through contact better, which always comes with more experience," said Langford when asked what he needs to work on.

Jeremy Langford - RB - Spartans
Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford impressed evaluators with his work in drills at the school's pro day earlier this week.
Because of his 4.42 second forty in Indy, Langford didn't have much to prove, but he impressed nonetheless. "Langford ... showed impressive burst out of his cuts and caught the ball so well that scouts who attended the workout hoping to watch other players couldn't help but notice the 5-foot-11, 209 pound back," CBS Sports' Dane Brugler wrote. NFL Media analyst Charles Davis warned recently that Langford "shouldn't be overlooked." Davis' colleague Daniel Jeremiah believes Langford "does everything well."

NFL Media analyst Charles Davis warns readers that Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford "shouldn't be overlooked."
"He rushed for more than 100 yards in 15 consecutive Big Ten games to close his college career, which is an FBS record since 1996, when STATS started tracking those marks," Davis wrote. NFL Media has taken a bit of a shining to the Spartans prospect. Davis' colleague Daniel Jeremiah recently wrote that Langford "does everything well."

Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford "does everything well," according to NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah.
Langford isn't a "wow guy," per Jeremiah, but is "decisive" and "runs hard." An anonymous scout told Bob McGinn he'd rather have Langford than Indiana's Tevin Coleman because he makes "NFL runs." We think there are a number of runners like Langford out there.

An NFL scout warns that Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford is "not Le'Veon Bell."
"He's a step below," the scout told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "But he can run, catch and do everything well. I'd take him over (Indiana's) Tevin Coleman because he makes NFL runs. He has to pick and show vision and contact balance. When you spread out all over the damn field and they pitch you the ball and you pick a running lane (as Coleman did), that's a little different (easier)." It must be pick on Langford month in the scouting community. Three weeks ago, an NFC East scout told NFL.com that Langford isn't an NFL starter. The 6-foot, 206-pounder collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries last season.

Jeremy Langford - RB - Spartans
An NFC East scout said Michigan State RB Jeremy Langford isn't an NFL starter.
"I don't see him as a starter," the scout said. "I think he can be a backup or compete as a third-down back, but he doesn't run tough enough to be able to project him as a starter in really any scheme." We're surprised to hear someone imply Langford is a tentative runner, as that isn't what we've observed. Langford currently projects as a mid-round pick, though this year's stacked RB class could push him to Day 3. The 6-foot, 206-pounder collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries this season.

Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage "was impressed" with Michigan State senior RB Jeremy Langford as a receiver and his "make-miss ability."
"I was impressed with Jeremy Langford in terms of the two days of practice, and as a receiver he had some make-miss ability," Savage said. "He may end up being a fifth- or sixth-round pick because of the nature of the position, but as far as the value, I saw him as a third- or fourth-rounder." The 6-foot, 206-pounder, a tough runner who can create yards on his own, collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries this season. Savage adds that Langford "could get on the field in those sub situations or pass situations, and "will find a place in the NFL." Langford currently projects as a mid-round pick, though this year's stacked RB class could push him to Day 3.

Michigan State senior RB Jeremy Langford ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries in Thursday's 42-41 victory over Baylor in the Cotton Bowl.
This performance is more impressive than it might seem on the surface: Baylor has one of the country's best run defenses. Langford ends his college career on a 10-game 100-yard streak. He also rushed for more than 100 yards in 15 straight Big Ten games. The 6-foot, 206-pounder, a tough runner who can create yards on his own, collected 1,522 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 230 carries this season.
