Griz

Yeah, Acho's best position is 4-3 OLB, but he's a good 4th OLB type and can play special teams.  Probably our best OLB against the run.  But he's not a big pass rusher.

He's the Unrein of the OLBs.

When you only follow your team so closely, can't see the forest for the trees...

What do you all think about this?

As for Adrian Amos, first of all why is he considered a FS? He's more of a physical strong safety type.  Is Eddie Jackson our strong safety?

Last year Amos had a nice year but he's never been a guy that gets his hands on too many balls and I've been critical of him for that in the past.  In his first 2 years 7 passes defended - no picks.  Last year 3 passes defended and one pick (and also forced 2 fumbles).

If he's so good - do the Bears cut ties with Demps?

To me that's his strongest attribute - he laid the wood on a couple guys last year.

Interesting question to Biggs and his answer, but I dont agree with the answer

What do we know about Kevin White’s two years of rehab? Has he been a workout warrior? Will he be stronger and faster? Or? — @GZeff

It’s really been rehabilitation over three seasons for White. I can say the Bears’ consistent message regarding the 2015 first-round draft pick is he’s always worked diligently and has maintained a really positive attitude throughout it all. I think it’s naive to believe White is going to get faster, and speed hasn’t been an issue for him. He needs to develop better skills running routes, and that requires time on the field. Strength hasn’t been an issue for him either. Just look at photos of him. He’s got all kinds of strength. What he’s lacked has been durability and a little good luck.

I think separation was what White lacked. Early problems were route running. Separation to me is a lack of quickness and speed. Biggs seems to be painting a different picture than what we saw last year.

Speed and quickness are huge contributors to getting separation, but don't minimize the ability to read the defenses and execute footwork required for the route.

In White's scouting report there was some concern about his experience with a varied route tree, that is, he was running simpler routes in college.

If speed was the only factor the NFL would be full of track guys.  White just needs to stay healthy during training camp, preseason and the regular season before anyone can start questioning his ability as a receiver.

“I just think he is going to utilize Trubisky’s strengths from day one,” Smith said. “He is going to find out what those are and take advantage of them. I think (Nagy) is going to put him in positions to have success early to get in a rhythm.

“It’s hard sometimes, and I’ve been there. I watched (the Bears) a couple times this year and felt almost all of (Trubisky’s) pass attempts came on third down, and that’s a hard way to play because I have been there too as a young player. He didn’t have the breather completions and throws to get himself into a rhythm, and I think Matt will do a great job just building it around him, tailoring it to his strengths, putting pieces around him that will help him.”

He hasn't been released yet so he is still the backup.
