He looks kinda gay. However its a technicality as of this minute that Glennon is our backup QB. I expect him to be released and a different backup signed once FA begins in March.

Cousins? No way Jose.

Wasn't real excited with the Glennon signing as a starter but for the right amount of money I think he'd be OK as a backup.

Glennon has an odd look about him but this should answer questions about his personal life:

https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2018/02/02/jordan-howard-makes-bold-prediction-for-bears-in-2018/

Howard, when speaking with the crew from NFL Network’s Good Morning Football on Thursday, launched a grenade at last year’s offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains when he said defenses knew just about every play Chicago was going to call.

Sounds about right to me.

Great news:

Linebacker Brian Urlacher will enter the Hall of Fame this year, going one-for-one in his effort for inclusion.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Urlacher has made it, in his first year of eligibility.

Urlacher, a top-10, first-round pick in 2000, played all 13 of his NFL seasons with the Bears, helping the team earn a berth in Super Bowl XLI. He has 41.5 sacks, 22 interceptions, 12 forced fumbles, and two touchdowns.

Versatile and athletic, Urlacher had played safety at New Mexico. As Biggs explains it, the Bears needed a little while to figure out Urlacher’s best spot. Once in the middle of the second level, Urlacher became a natural — and the next great middle linebacker in a line that traces back to Mike Singletary and Dick Butkus.

Urlacher will now join both of them in Canton.

Congrats to Brian on being the next Bears' inductee.

Its great to have someone younger folks today will have seen get inducted.

Anyone who saw that Arizona game during the SB run where he took over the game (with a little help from Devin Hester of course) could not deny he was a great one (that stuff of Emmit Smith "playing for stats" early on set the tone for sure).

Interesting HoF class for sure.....

That’s fantastic news, Urlacher was a great player.  If Tommy Harris and Mike Brown had not been injured the Bears would have won that Super Bowl and Urlacher’s legacy would be even better....

Since FA is about a month away its time to look into possible targets:

I hope Pace is thinking big and not small. With all the cap space we have we shouldnt be thinking small.

Brian Urlacher did not start right away as he couldn't beat out Roosevelt Colvin at SLB.  Can anyone name the MLB that got injured paving the way for Urlacher?

I think it was Barry Minter maybe ? He actually was a serviceable player (which on the Bears true talent deficient teams of the late 90s means franchise player) as I recall.

And some complain about the talent level on the team today, nothing (OK maybe the mid-70s teams minus Walter and maybe Doug B) compares with those Wanny virtually talent-less teams....

Hell I kicked a hole in one of my basement paneled walls after watching the Bears **** away a game back then (I was more firey and young :D). Can't recall which one (there were quite a few). Maybe not remembering is due to age too :D

Good question and you are right, he replaced Barry Minter!  I had to look it up!

Chase Daniel A Logical QB2 Fit?

February 1st, 2018 at 5:40pm CST by Sam Robinson

•Mike Glennon will not be Mitch Trubisky‘s backup next season, leading Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com to wonder if Chase Daniel would be an option for the Bears. Although Daniel was not with the Chiefs during Matt Nagy‘s two years as OC, he played three seasons behind Alex Smith when Nagy was the team’s QBs coach. Daniel spent 2017 backing up Drew Brees again. Dickerson listed Josh McCown, who rose back to relevance after a strong 2013 relief stint with the Bears, and Tyler Bray as other possible choices. The latter, though, having thrown just one pass in five NFL seasons could pose a problem in inspiring confidence he’s a No. 2 option.
•Although Malcolm Butler has played a key role with the Patriots ever since his era-reshaping interception sealed their Super Bowl XLIX win, two NFL personnel men are not as high on him as they are other UFA corners. Both told the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs Butler would rank third behind Trumaine Johnson and Bears emerging defender Kyle Fuller if given the choice of the three. Each pointed to Butler’s small stature as a drawback. But the Bears went after Janoris Jenkins and Stephon Gilmore, respectively, the past two offseasons. And corner remains a need area. They figure to be in the market for a top-tier UFA here, and it stands to reason these three will be on the radar.
