The Lions signed Nick Williams, ugh.

And Jimmy Graham?  Now we have 3 soft, slow, underperformers at TE.  So much for drafting a stud TE in the second round.  Sigh.

I don't think signing Graham precludes us from drafting a TE high.  Pace is good at stocking the cabinet before buying the replacement.  I am not overjoyed that it is Graham, but we can't go into the season with two question marks in Burton and Shaheen, and several wannabe overachievers trying to fill our TE position.

If this is your TE of the future then you are out of your mind. Its a sign that our first draft pick needs to be a TE. Or if you are full of Corona you are banking on Coward to be your TE of the future. TSK TSK.

Thats not the Coronas I had reference to. It was reference to the Chinese variety.

Graham will be 34 next November, hasn't been good for several years & is rated as a terrible blocker.

Bears need a new GM.

I don't think any Bears fan was doing cartwheels after the Graham signing.

This tells me the Bears have little or no faith in Burton returning to his 2018 form.  Also no faith in Shaheen and the slew of FA TEs the Bears threw out there in 2019.

Graham is a one year stop gap.  Doesn't mean the Bears will draft a TE early doesn't preclude it either.

The positives:  He's tall.  He doesn't have an injury history.  His catch/target ratio last year was very close to his career average (around 63%).  He's an upgrade over what we had last year.

Look at the bright side... at least the signing of Graham isn't the stupidest move of the NFL offseason so far.

Maybe the 2nd worst.

But BoB of the Texans is king of the idiot village for trading Hopkins for a six-pack (2 round pick) and a bag of chips (oft injured David Johnson)......

He's an upgrade over what we had last year.

I am sure that will be debateable. Yeah, like look at who was throwing to him last year. We dont have that in Chicago.
