Lovie Smith must really miss the Bears. Poles owes Lovie for that win. Or is this a payback for all the blunders he made as Bears HC?

Sports radio here in Houston should be highly entertaining tomorrow morning.

If you want Anderson the only trade down the Bears can do is with Houston.

Anything from Indy on down you'll be taking Carter or the other DEs.

It's official.  The Bears gave up a virtual first rounder to the Steelers in the trade for Claypool.

Since Miami forfeited their 1st rounder the Steelers pick is now #32.

One thing for sure, with the #1 overall pick, and the cap space we have to spend, this should be an entertaining offseason!

Bears almost have to trade down.   Quite a gap between drafting #1 and their next choices which are late 2nd and early 3rd.

Watching the Packers/Lions game last night I was amazed at all the talent on both those teams compared to the Bears.  Bears roster is devoid of their own draft picks.

Yes, its looking like trade downs are not good for the Bears.

Liklihood is you would lose one or both of the defensive studs

The first thing the Bears have to do is make a commitment one way or another regarding Fields. Is he their man. Poles can look like a genius or complete moron. Not much room for in between. If we want Anderson, almost as if we have stay pat and take him number one. Fields still has a lot of work to do. Maybe they trade him for a high number one and use our #1 for the best QB in the draft. One things for certain, we better walk away with a great prospect, or two...

I would be stunned if the Bears trade Fields.   I don't know that any team would give up a #1 based on his productivity so far (he's toward the bottom of almost all non-running QB stats).

I think they give him one more year with some improvements on the O-line.

I'm certainly not pushing Cunningham out the door because I really want him work with Poles for at least this upcoming offseason for the Bears, especially when evaluating OL options.  But if and when he finds his GM gig, I think the Bears would be awarded a couple 3rd round compensatory picks.

I don't recall seeing the 3rd round comp pick mentioned in the recent article but I do recall it being available to the Bears.  That could mean another starter potentially.  I figure anyone drafted rounds 1 to 5 has a good chance of starting next season or at least being a major contributor.

Forgot to mention, Cunningham would have to be employed by the Bears for 2 full seasons before his promotion in order for the Bears to acquire the 3rd round comp picks.
