I havent watched this either but since it was on Lions Wire I would say that there is a Method attitude in play where they are trying to blackball Carter from playing in the NFL

The big concern is that if he gets that high draft pick salary and doesnt really love the game and gets in with the wrong crowd, he isnt going to put in the effort.  He has already shown questionable judgement.

We all were such angels in our early 20s.

As the article states the key to whoever drafts Carter is setting up the right culture so that he has a solid support system.  And this goes for just about every draft choice in the NFL.  And if that doesn't do it usually the goal of that 2nd contract does.

I hope the kid comes through this process OK. Lets give him the chance to reach his potential.

This is a stupid move. I hope the Bears dont do this:

You are correct - this is stupid.  The compensation is a joke.     I wish the draft was already here - I'm getting tired of these BS mock draft/trade articles that everyone is pulling out of their ass.

Very well said. I agree completely. And to emphasize a point, the Bears traded away #1 for #9

You are in the top 10 so you need to come away with a top 10 talent and with short arms he isnt but a guard and doesnt solve your LT, RT or swing tackle.

Guards you dont draft at #9.

What I would like at #9 : Bijon Robinson

What we have to get if Deeeeetroit takes Carter : Skoronski

What we need : Paris Johnson

At this point, the player I want least is Skorowski.

Almost every report I've read said he'll be a helluva guard but an average OT.   We got one of those already.

I'd only be good with him after Bears do a double trade down and picked up a couple 2nd rounders.   Nah - nevermind.

I wonder if anyone has done a comparison of Skoronski as OG to Quentin Nelson as OG.  He went pretty high as I recall.

NFL.com graded Nelson at 7.4.  Skoronski is a 6.7.

Johnson is probably the OT I would choose. But these mocks arent draft day and arent our GM picking. But 3 meetings are sometimes a telling story.
