Just as Lincecum's post-game interview was starting, Cain and Javier Lopez each doused Lincecum with a full cooler of Gatorade/water. Lincecum immediately left the field and went to the clubhouse.

Replay showed that the lid of Cain's cooler whacked Lincecum on top of his head...not sure if that's why he left so abruptly?

Sounds like a Cubbie occurrence.  Except for the no-hitter part.

I read on Twitter a little while ago that the Padres are on pace to have the worst BA and OBP of any team in the last 100 years.  They may get no hit another time or two before this season is over.

Im nowhere near as stupid and unproductive as some here would like to believe. I made a mistake during a hard time in my life when recieving some legal advice about my child from Jes and probably told him too much but Ive since got things in order and Im now happier and more productive than Ive ever been. It would be awful hard for me to complain about anything right now.

While you are free to disclose parts or all of those conversations, despite the fact that I am no longer practicing law, I am still bound by the ethical constraints prohibiting me from disclosing anything you told me.

I believe I am, however, ethically free to point out that the legal advice you got from me, was not followed.  At all.

That said, it would be nice to know that you now have "got things in order."

Lincecum no-hitting SD thru 7...

Lincecum's last couple of years have been a bit rough, at least compared to how he started.  Nice to see him get a no-hitter.

Padres (#15 in NL):  .216 BA .275 OBP

Cubs.   (#14 in NL):  .232 BA .295 OBP

Looking at those numbers Rizzo might deserve the MVP.

Kyle Farnsworth outrighted by the Astros; Jose Veras called up to replace him.  I hadn't heard that anyone had picked Veras up after the Cubs let him go.

Ok did I hear this right?  This was Vanderbilt's first CWS championship.  With all the talk of how good the program is, I thought they would have won one.  That would be like me saying how good the Purdue basketball program is...

I think I heard that the College World Series is Vanderbilt's first NCAA men's title of any kind.

I guarantee that. Theyve always been pathetic in football, theyve been a good bit better in basketball but nothing special, and this little run in baseball's been the only time theyve ever sniffed a national title.

Prior to their D-1 World Series Championship this week, the only NCAA National Championship Vanderbilt had won was in women's bowling in 2007.

Angels and Pirates traded struggling relievers Ernesto Fierri for Grilli.
