Accidentally deleted it...

Dave,

There is a way you can easily prevent this from happening again.  Look under the heading "recycling":

See: http://support.createaforum.com/7/%28tips%29-safeguarding-your-forum/

and   http://support.createaforum.com/7/%28guide%29-recycling-topics/

When we moved from worldcrossing to createaforum, I set up the sox board so any deletion (a topic or even a single post) goes to a "Admin only" board where it's stored until Admin can review it and then can be restored, saved or deleted permanently.

Yesterday, I was deleting posts by Slash.  I think that's what Dave was doing too and instead of hitting Remove, he hit Remove Topic.  It happens.  I did it once about a year ago, but I was able to get the topic back.  Can't remember how.

Josh Byrnes has been fired, so I guess Rosenthal (or Morosi?) was right in that article yesterday.  I guess we'll see if they follow through with trading Cashner.  Personally, if they're completely tearing down, I'd like to see the Cubs make an offer for Tyson Ross.

And of course, Loxas pretends he knew something about this:

****, I knew about Byrnes yesterday. Thought everyone did? Ooops.

How about trading for Cashner?

Cashner would be tough to value.  He benefits from pitching it Petco and he has an extensive injury history.  Great stuff, but with 2 1/2 years of control left the price would be very high.

Baez could bust, but he also could be a generational talent.  The list of MLB players I'd trade him for is small, an often pitcher isn't on that list.  Almora+ would be interesting.

Cashner hasn't exactly waxed poetical about how much he misses the Cubs since he left, though I suppose that's a minor point.

Didn't the Cubs trade Cashner partially because they were scared he couldn't stay healthy?  He made a DL trip earlier this year...I can't imagine that has made them any less worried.

You have to kick the tires on that, at least. Cashner may be helped by Petco, but it's not like he's smoke and mirrors dependent on a pitcher's park. He has serious groundball stuff that will play anywhere. With where the Cubs seem to be on the win curve, he would make a great addition if his medical records look good.

And, yes, I'm still very much in favor of trading Sam.
