There will be football this year.  The Bears will win the Super Bowl and I will win the FFL championship!  I am calling it!

You paid attention to obscure RB's and got away with it.

This season everybody knows who they are and will key on them.

But I have to decide who to keep.  I have three keeper quality RB's, a keeper quality QB and a keeper quality WR.  Sadly I can only keep three.

So right now looking like I will keep Cutler and Foster and then decide between Stephen Jackson, Greg Jennings or Peyton Hillis.  Of course I am willing to trade some of them if I get the right draft picks.

We need to talk about keeping a 4th and losing your first rounder.

Can we also talk about making the TE position a Flex position where you can use a TE or WR?  There are only a very few productive tight ends and if you don't have one, it is like giving those that do an extra man.  I have been a have and a have not and this would level the playing field somewhat.

Hey Duck you can address this...

didnt we have a FLEX where we could put in TE-WR-RB at Zbuds at the Yahoo site?

A flex position is pretty common in many fantasy leagues.  You can usually play any player that you like there.  However if we go this route I think we should still keep our rosters the same meaning you have to draft the players the same as we do now.  If not we would have three TE's drafted every year and that is it.  People would horde RB's and WR's and they are way to thin in our league as it is with so many teams.

Personally I like it the way it is now with having to play a TE.  That is all part of the draft day strategy.  Take one of the stud TE's early and suffer at another position or draft other positions and take the scraps left over.

Yeah.  I like the fact you have to start a TE.  Draft a good one I say.  Not all teams in the NFL have a great TE.  Those that do have an advantage.  Just like in our league.

I don't mind possibly changing that third starting WR to a flex position where you can start a WR/TE/RB.

Changing WR3 to flex is a very good idea.  I'm neutral on keeping the league TE mandatory.

RBs come out of nowhere every year.  It would be nice to be able to pick up another Hillis after a dumbass inexplicably drops him midseason for no reason.

On the TE thing, if you don't have a stud TE, which only a few of the 16 teams in our league have, it's like being down a player every game.  Even if you do draft a stud TE or keep one as a Keeper, you are screwed if they go down.  I have been on both ends of that proposition.  I think that's why other leagues have moved to a Flex position instead of a dedicated TE.  We can still require everybody draft 2 TE, but owners can play BPA at that position on game day.  Would that not be like the NFL, where a TE may or may not take every snap, but instead, only the players needed for the particular play are in?

Then no one would take TE's until the very end of the draft with no intention of ever using them.  I personally like the strategy of having to decide based on what is left on the board do I pull the trigger now and get a top TE while passing up on a decent WR or do I take the WR this round and take my chances there will still be a decent TE left when my pick comes around again.

I would say there are probably 3 really good fantasy TE's then probably another 5 that aren't too bad.  Then you have all of the other guys.  So half the teams get a worthy TE.

I prefer having to play a TE but will not **** if we do away with it.
