Dev, sorry but not all the Circle got back to me.  The thought that was expressed was that we wouldn't approve until he actually pitched in relief, has he?

Who? Clevinger?...yeah he pitched in relief

as a matter of fact so did Tseng..."In Joe We Trust"

Matt Carpenter 3B | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Shut down for season
by RotoWire Staff
(12 hrs ago) Carpenter (shoulder) has been shut down for the remainder of the season, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

The Cardinals were officially eliminated from postseason contention Thursday, and with that, Carpenter will shut it down and look ahead to 2018. He has been playing through chronic shoulder pain for a while and the team will check in on the condition of his shoulder with another MRI on Friday. Carpenter said he's confident that he will be able to avoid surgery.

If the circle agrees, please DL him and pick up Teoscar Hernandez LF | TOR at UP to replace him for the weekend.

I would also like to petition for Miguel Cabrerra to be placed on the DL.  He as not played since his diagnosis of 2 herniated disks 5 days ago. Here is an article on his diagnosis and offseason plans. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/256424688/tigers-miguel-cabrera-ready-to-get-healthy/

From the article: "He has an appointment scheduled for Monday with a specialist in Miami for a second opinion on his back, which has been diagnosed with two herniated disks. But unless he hears differently, the plan is for six weeks of physical therapy, treatment and core muscle exercises designed to stretch the back and strengthen the muscles around the disks.

Once he's done with that, he can move on to normal offseason workouts, but he wants to change those, too."

If approved I would move Joe Mauer to 1B and pick up Brandon Nimmo at UP to replace.

OOps, I went and did the changes, dev, but you have picked a player declared out for the season.  Just because CBS has but a red DL next to his name, doesn't mean he's available.  Please pick another.

On the CBS site it shows Carpenter and Cabrerra being dropped. I just want them DL'd. No big deal for now as long as they are on my roster at season's end.

It seems like replacing guys for few days really opens up a can of worms. Like paxton....mariners might skip his last start Sunday.  Does that mean I can replace him if so?
I hadnt planned to and am ok not but thought id throw out there while everything is debated.  Brewers said woodruff was shut down for year and I used my final waiver.  Does that mean it shouldn't have cost me one?

Roster looks ah...just found it.  Felix was shut down AFTER you original tabbed him.  All's okay.

I think there is a difference between a starting pitcher making his last start and regular players with injuries not being placed on the DL because of expanded rosters like the above two moves I made. In the middle of the season Carpenter either plays or is on the DL. Cabrerra wouldn't sit for 8 days without being placed on the DL and being eligible under our rules for replacement for fairness. I didn't even petition for a replacement for Tim Beckham because the team hasn't officially shut him down for the year, even though he hasn't played this week and in the middle of the year would definitely be on the DL. So essentially I am playing with 3 or 4 men down because of the 40 man roster, not because of the team I picked or the way I managed them, which is what should decide our winner, imho.

I guess, to me, 3 days or 1 start isn't really replace worthy. This is all just end of year craziness and i guess i just accept it.  And I had actually checked rules on it a few weeks ago and was curious.   The rules say extended period and I guess you could debate how long that is.

I'm not really one for debating rules so not sure why I'm even posting.  Just sorta seems like big can of worms.  Especially to say applies to batters but not pitchers.  I think at this point, you sort of let play out.  Actually, in truth, I can understand carp, but Cabrera's MRI is after season and he still listed as day to day.

ii.  There is an exception made after MLB expands rosters after September 1.  At this time, if an owner can provide verifiable proof that an un-DLed player is out due to injury for an extended time, said player may be placed on the owner's DL.

Extended time meant the equivalent of a 15 day DL (now a 10 day DL).  Can't grab another player because a guy has an owie and will be rested for a day.
