Issue 3   In response to several calls for adjustments to our after deadline trade and waiver process, we are suggesting the following.  Please vote aye or nay.

This is the rule from BBFL.   We are suggesting changing the red to the blue.

They make a trade as we have always done and the trade is put up for vote on the board via the anonymous poll option at create-a-forum BBFL site.  Owners will be alerted that a vote is needed via mass email.  Each owner will have one vote; the voting is anonymous; failure to secure 9 votes vetoes the trade after 48 hours.  If the trade fails, the players involved cannot be traded again or placed on waivers.  (See below.)  Those players may be dropped into the pool, as during the regular season, should the need arise.  (A minor leaguer is brought up, a player is taken from the pool, owner has too many players due to an approved trade, etc.)

2.  They may post on the board a player they are placing through "waivers" along with their expected and required return.  In 48 hours, any owners who have met or exceeded that required return are awarded the player.  In case of several offers, the owner lowest in the standings at the time of the waiver is awarded the player.  If no offers are made, the player is withdrawn and cannot be offered again on waivers or in any trade.  (In short, be realistic with expectations.)

Please note that the regular waiver wire that applies to players new to the pool does not apply to this process.

Rewrite:  .

1.   They make a trade as we have always done and the trade is put up for vote on the board   Owners will be alerted that a vote is needed via mass email.  Each owner will have one vote; not voting counts as a yes vote, therefor only “protests” or “no’s” need to be made.  If only 7 no votes are recorded, the trade passes.

2.  They may post on the board a player they are placing through "waivers" along with their expected and required return.  In 48 hours, any owners who have met or exceeded that required return are awarded the player.  In case of several offers, the owner lowest in the standings at the time of the waiver is awarded the player.  If no offers are made, the player is withdrawn but can be waived up to 3 times or traded.

Please note that the regular waiver wire that applies to players new to the pool does not apply to this process.

tico's vote puts the issue to rest.  Thank you, everyone.

I will poll the Circle to see if we are closing winter meetings.

JUST IN CASE,  since a couple of owners have not checked in, do we have any candidates?  If we have a shortage of owners, the Circle favors contraction.

On a reread, they will allow switching from hitter to pitcher and vice versa, but how are we going to manage that in our league?  Whoever gets Ohtani has to go a player short?  Can't have a team with an additional position player when he's hitting or an additional pitching spot when he's throwing.  Ideas?

i have been wondering how we'll deal with this!  It is a great puzzle for the circle.

Othani has great value in a weekly lineup league... but in ours his value is nebulous without significant changes.

You could just set up 26 man roster limits for everyone at CBS and have every other team be a player "short".  The owner can then just move Ohtani back and forth depending on when he's pitching.

Another thought is we could re-institute the PU position and the owner can move him back and forth that way too.

I think whatever team gets Ohtani should get both the hitter and the pitcher versions for one roster spot.  The Angels get both versions, so I think the fantasy team should too.

I vote yes even though the measure has already passed. Good changes to the rule.

I would agree if this were a week to week league... but in our format giving him points for both is effectively giving a team an extra roster spot. NFBC is telling players to declare pitcher or hitter for a week, but not both points... we should try and follow NFBC

Yes!  You've found us!  This is where we do our draft, where we exchange info, announce trades, and keep in touch.  You may wish to go back a few pages and read to catch up.

I understand the love for Kris Bryant as he is SO dreamy, but why you hate on Doc Martin when the guy hasn't played since 1887 is beyond me.... #SANGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Curiosity question since it looks like someone drafting Ohtani will have to choose one way or the other which way to go with him.

If you draft him as a pitcher this year, could you keep him as a hitter next year?

Still waiting for clarity from CBS, but I would say no.  I don't think you'd be forced to have him at one or the other all season.

I'd like to suggest fun option for ohtani... Or other 2 way players for our league.... Let the owner who has him... Flip ohtani during dl moves.

Example. Owner a drafts and declares ohtani a hitter. The he loses a sp during the season... Allow the owner to flip ohtani to sp and pick up a hitter at that time... Can revert at another dl move to hitter if owner chooses.

would help mimic his unique value to our league.
