The protection follows the player in the case of a trade. You can trade a guy you select in the supplem3ntal draft, but he must then be protected by his new team. Of course, this should be assumed anyway, else why would you trade for the guy?

If a minor leaguer is taken in the supplemental draft, are they placed on the selecting owner's major or minor league roster? And if major league roster, does the player then have to make his team out of spring training or risk being lost back to our FA pool?
If a true minor leaguer, his minor league team.  Dave's caveat is important.  Don't take any players you don't plan to keep.  That would be truly unfair to those drafting behind you.

A, dump in pool: Boris, Robb, grrr, Ray, dev, ISF, Jamie, tico, Chiman (9)

B, Supplemental: Dave, 82, method, Curt, JR, Sam (6)

If the current vote remains the same by noon on Sunday, throwing contracted team players into the pool will become the law of the land and the procedure we will follow in contracting buff's team.

I will not declare a winner, however, until noon, in case after pondering the situation, anyone wishes to switch their vote (either direction).  I think it's that important a decision in terms of balancing the league.

If those folks who voted for B are sighing deeply, go find an owner before noon on Sunday.  :)

Thank you all for a clean vote with no politicking.  That was super.

I can email you the league rules.   The roster is not that great, but method has voiced an interest in taking the team and surrendering his roster.  I'll try to get you a copy.
