Missing Ray, Jamie, and dev.   If you communicate with any of them, please encourage them to check in.  By Dec 1 we would like to have a good idea of where we're heading.

So a quick question, when you type Grrrr do you actually count the r's or do you just know how many? Or perhaps you just don't care and just use a random number each time? These are the thoughts that keep me from sleeping at night.

I have an email from Jamie that he's in.  That leaves only Ray.  Hope he's okay.

Guys, it's Dec 1.  I have not had any communication from Ray, in spite of numerous emails and posts.  We have to assume he's upset with me or us or he's not well.  Time to find a replacement.  We have until the end of the month.  Obviously if Ray shows up, it's still his team.  Email me with candidates.

Ooops.  Just checked my timeline.  We have until February 1 to find a new owner, not January 1.  Sorry.  Keep looking.

Divers need the following FA's dropped:

Wilson Ramos
Manny Machado
Brian Dozier
Anibal Sanchez
Clay Buchholz
Adam Ottavino
Andrew Miller

I *think* that's everyone.

Hyun Jin Ryu accepted LA's QO. I don't remember what that means for his status in our league.

Separately, I'd like to suggest something for the winter meetings: that we institute a 60-day DL that allows us to retain rights to a player while removing him from our active-25 roster and not requiring one of our keeper slots. For a league that attempts to mimic MLB rules, this would seem to be a reasonable rule change.

If approved, I don't expect that such a rule would take effect this winter, but as an example, Lance McCullers is going to be out for all of 2019 recovering from TJS. He's on the Stros 60-day DL and off their 40-man, meaning they still own him but are able to add another player to their 40-man roster to compensate for the fact that he'll be out so long.

My suggestion would allow me to put McCullers on a similar 60-day DL for our league and retain rights to him, while not being required to name him as a keeper. Again, I wouldn't expect such a change to kick in immediately (though I wouldn't complain!), but I was in a similar situation last winter with Luis Urias, and I know other owners have had similar roster challenges in the past.

Given how valuable a keeper slot is, it's tough to justify protecting someone who will not contribute at all in the coming year. Similarly, such an injury situation dramatically depresses their trade value in an artificial manner compared to MLB. Thoughts?
