If anyone is interested in Cole Hamels, Jake Arrieta, Alex Wood, or Adam Eaton for draft picks, I would like to upgrade on my 12th rounders.

A question on roster rules.  I have Kyle Tucker and his AB make him ineligible for the minors.  If I keep him as one of my 13 keepers and he starts the year in the minors I am able to send him down as 1 of my 5 minor leaguers at that point then?

Yes.  The rule that all of your roster must make the opening day roster or you lose them excludes your 13.  Your 13 keepers are yours, with the exception that if you have 5 minor leaguers, someone will have to be dropped.  If one of your 13 is DFAed, then you can only keep them if they're traded.  If they become a FA, you lose them.

First issue will be posted Wednesday.  The Circle is nearly finished debating the submitted issues, however, I thought more issues were submitted during the season.  If you had an idea you wish discussed, please check Winter Meetings in the BBFL section (Click on the orange Home at the top of this page, click BBFL, click Winter Meetings.)  If you had an idea that didn't get posted, email me asap.

Last call for a replacement owner.  Circle will discuss contraction soon if an owner is not found.

Issue to be voted on:
1. The Circle has discussed 3 issues and needs your vote on one.
2. Suggestions promoted by Robb and tico failed in committee.
3.  Please vote on this issue:

The only times we allow a player to be DLed in September is that documentation is provided that clearly states that the player is shut down for the season.

Rational:  We have a rule but we need to firm it up.  Too often whichever Circle member is making changes  has to be subjective which has caused anger and hard feelings.

For: Curt, Dave, 82, Chi, Boris

The Circle is discussing a fourth suggestion, but we are willing to entertain others.  During the season, ideas were presented but were not posted at BBFL.

Question (Poll)   Would you support a nominal fee to award division winners?  A booby prize $ penalty for finishing last?  We continue to look for ways to keep everyone active during the year.  Give us your opinion.

Do we vote in the topic or by email?

As for the poll question I would say it is bad idea.  Taking over one of the worst teams I would have hesitant to join if I knew I was looking at a penalty.

I think the strike out penalty is still worthy of being addressed.  We have a situation where Jose Peraza was worth 551 points last year.  He was a below average offensive player.  Baez was worth 598 points and was well above league average.  Michael Bradley was worth 620 points.  Harper was 613, even though his OPS was around 50 points higher.

I threw a suggestion in the winter meetings topic on how to keep the teams at the bottom competing until the end of the season by the way. :)
