Have to admit, I'm not much of a fan of posting what ought to be the correct answer and then having the question re-edited. :)

And I'm not much of a fan of posting what ought to be the correct question then having to go back and edit it.  :)

But at least you know you're partially correct, JR.  :)

If all I had to do all day was research and post Cubs trivia questions......maybe I wouldn't have to tell Jes to shove dead horses up his arse every few weeks.

I had to look this one up, and never would have guessed the answer.

If nobody else comes up with the answer, I'll give you the three points, JR.

Haha, a very valid point.

Castro AND Fukudome?

How many hits did Tuffy Rhodes have the day he hit 3 homers off of Gooden?

You'd think the Cubs would keep their stats up to date on the MLB website, but nooooo!

JR was correct in that Fukudome made his MLB debut with three hits, going 3-3 in an extra-inning loss to the Brewers, including a game-tying 3-run homer off of Eric Gagne.

The answer I was looking for though was Doug Dascenzo, whose MLB debut was on September 2, 1988 against the Reds.  Dascenzo went 3-5 that day scoring 2 runs in the 6-5 loss.

I knew Dascenzo had three hits, as well as Fukudome, but I assumed that that couldn't be the record, especially when only two players reached that number over the years.

How many did Castro have in his first game.  I think he had a homer and a triple, and maybe a sac fly, but is that all he got?
