When you fire a coach you're firing all the assistants because a newly hired coach gets to hire his own.

I am really really happy Gould beat the bears single handed.  Of course I am not so happy that we crapped down our leg, stepped on our diick, and shiit the bed.  Long was out in the second half, our OL is a mess.  All of our pass rushers were hurt, I would say we would be VERY lucky to beat the Browns, let alone anyone else.  Seems like everyone has given up, including the coaches.  I know THIS fan has given up.

Trevethan getting hurt didnt help.  He was the one who was really trying at the begining of the game.  And the first half everyone seemed to play hard and do well, yet after halftime, they call came out in a coma.  Dont know if Fox was playing Yani music in the locker room at half time or what, but he definitely DIDNT motivate anyone to do better.  We cant get a new coaching staff soon enough.  I would say 15 minutes after the last game Fox should be fired.  And I wanted to keep Fangio, but after today, not so much.

For most of the NFL that's the case.  But with the Bears anything can happen.  They tried to keep Marinelli when Lovie was fired and make him Trestman's DC.  A couple of the beat reporters were saying that Fangio could potentially stay past the Fox regime.

Fangio is popular enough around the league it's possible a new coach would want him, but if Pace decides to keep him some coach candidates will turn away.

I found his conservative defese today annoying.  Very little blitzing, DBs playing deep trying not to lose.

Who expected anything different.

A lot of people did, probably including you.

No.  I didn't want Trubisky to play at all this year, regardless of whether we did well or poorly (I expected poorly).  The only way the Bears are going to improve over the next three years is if they build from within, starting with HIGH draft choices.  And during that time, your franchise quarterback should not be starting, and for that matter, shouldn't be on the team.  Build your defense and your offensive line and running game first, and then draft your franchise quarterback, when he can be protected.

The worst thing that can happen to a team is to consistently be between 6 and 10 and 10 and 6.  I have been criticized on this board several times for saying that I would much rather that the Bears were 0 and 16 than 8 and 8.

I think this says everything about the coaches:

#Bears players continue to rave about Tarik Cohen and how good he is. They know his importance, yet Cohen gets 6 touches and is on the field for 16 plays Sunday.

I agree with that, however, we've been snake bit with White and Floyd. And its hard telling what might ruin Trubisky before he even has a decent chance. It seems that the players they draft arent strong enough to play well or we have a bad conditioning/training program. It could also have something to do with players union rules too which I know nothing of. But the bottom line is all our players seem to get injured and the cohesion of both the offense and defense is affected. The end result is we put 2nd, third and 4th string players in starting positions and you cant expect players like that to succeed.

I have two teams back in my neck of the woods for the first time in the 21st century.

One of the teams really suucked last year and are now 8-3 and counting.

I thought that was going to happen for our BEARS ... but alas ... 2018 Draft :

In your order of preference :

 1. WR

 2. WR

 3. LB

 4. LB

 5. OL

 6. OL

 7. K

All those nasty positions that can NEVER finish a 16 game season !

Build a team like the Energizer Bunny ... it keeps going and going and going and ...

From Adam Hoge, via Twitter...

John Fox on why he didn’t let the #49ers score a TD at the end: “We felt good about the block we had on the potential field goal. Neither one of those are great options at the 5 and 4 yard line."

I’m guessing they had something different planned than what they did on the previous 4 FG’s?

As the season progresses, I'm getting more and more convinced that OL is the #1 priority.  Leno and Massie are below average at best, Sitton and Long are regressing.  Whitehair is the only guy I'd feel comfortable saying is going to be a solid starter next year and he's been erratic.

I would have disagreed with you earlier in the season, but we can't run the ball.  And Leno single handedly killed two drives with the holding call and letting the 49er DE come untouched on the strip sack.  (I saw him complaining but now I hear he said he was held - I dunno I didn't see much effort to block outside).

And was that Jerry Rice out there?  The Bear corners were giving 10 yard cushions on their wide outs.

Watch the Bears offense and the defenders are on them like glue.  How many wide open receivers did Trubisky pass to?

And Trubisky isn't without fault.  We hear the same old sh*t from him week in and week out.  He's got to know when to pull the trigger when the deep guy is covered.   On one play there are two guys open over the middle and he's just staring off into space then finally backs up and throws it into the ground.

He didn't sh*t the bed today but he's not good enough to carry a team with this kind of talent.  2nd and 8....2nd and 9....if we get a penalty its time to get the punter ready.

Leno was held.  The inside defender was holding his right arm which kept him from getting out to defend the outside rusher.  If you have it recorded go back and watch it is obvious.

Where he is at fault was crying about it while there was a loose football.

I feel like Trubisky has all of the skills needed to be a good QB.  He is a rookie and he is going to take his lumps. He will be better next year with more protection and better receivers.
