Yankees fans were really excited when this game started.  The atmosphere at the ballpark was very positive.

Eight innings later with the Yankees down 3-0, they're booing Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury.

Jed Lowrie pinch hits for Carlos Gomez in the 9th.  Gomez looked like he re-hurt himself on a swing in his last AB.

Bottom of the 9th...we're 3 outs away from a good start to the postseason.

7 pitches, 2 Ks for Gregerson.  More boos.

I hope the Pirates fans have the same reaction to Arrieta or Rondon in the 9th tomorrow.

Game over, Astros to the ALDS!

Postscript: #Astros made the largest offer to Andrew Miller in free agency last offseason, as one exec reminded me tonight.

BJs over Pirates, also ends up being the lowest television ratings for the WS ever.

Even worse than the Astros/White Sox?

Is Wainright going to pitch for Cardinals?

So Cubs should probably be going Lester-Hendrick-Arrieta-Hammel-Lester, correct?  If it goes all five?

Assuming Wainright is in bullpen, Cardinal starters should be Lackey-Lynn-Wacha-Garcia in whatever order?

Wainright is pitching out of the bull pen in 1 inning stints.

What is the status on Holliday, Piscotty and Grichuk?

What will be the Cubs' roster move to get Hammel on the roster? I think it's unlikely they'll remove a pitcher, so RH outfielder seems to be the place where they have a surplus (Jackson, Denorfia, & Soler, plus Bryant as needed).  I doubt it would be Jackson since he's the Cubs only real CF other than Fowler.  So does Denorfia or Soler go?

I wonder if they will roster him.  Maddon still talks about a bullpen game because he likes the short work of Wood, Cahill, and Richard.  Another possibility would be to bring back Lester and Arrieta on short rest.  If they do roster him, I think it will be at the expense of Berry or one of those three pitchers.
