Cubs lose.  No team has ever been dominated more in the NLCS.

The Cubs lost by 2, 3, 3, 5 runs

1995 Braves beat the Reds by 1, 4, 3, 6
1982 Cards beat the Braves 7, 1, 4
1979 Pirates beat the Reds 3,1, 6
1975 Reds beat the Pirates 5, 5, 2
1969 Mets beat the Braves 4, 5, 3

Bummed for sure. But overall, appreciative and hopeful. Not going to get overly down about a crap ending to an incredibly fun regular season and what should be the first of many postseason appearances

If they can't win, can they at least get through the first inning without giving up a run?

No.

Don't forget though folks. Jes is embarrassed by us, not the team at the moment.

And I still am embarrassed by those of you who have been ripping this team the last couple of games, and still not embarrassed at all by either the team on the field or management.  I am quite happy with both of them.

I am pleased that this team is so much better than they have been for a while now, and next year when I again have a television, they will be worth watching.

Cubs hit .164 in the series, the lowest ever in an NLCS.

Some final thoughts on the TBS coverage of the NLCS

There are better PBP announcers than Ernie Johnson
Cal Ripken added very little
Ron Darling was adequate

It’s probably wishful thinking but I hope the next time MLB negotiates a television contract they put in a clause banning those obnoxious animated ads for the network’s other programming from flashing on and off the screen.  The same goes for dominating the score ticker at the bottom of the screen with program promos instead of scores.

FS1 was 10x better than TBS, imo...

TBS did briefly show a cool camera angle last night...one I hadn't seen before. It was like Starlin Castro was wearing a GoPro at 2nd base. Very cool angle to watch from...

Im too damn old to let a ballgame get me tore up.

I still live and die with every pitch but I try not to dwell on the negative I guess.

I just see too much talent in that dugout to think this run has done anything but just begun.

The truth is I think all we'd have to do is tinker with this roster and be a 100 win World Series contender.

As a 21 year Cub fan I cant think of many times Ive been able to say that.

Get us another front end starter, a couple bullpen arms, and re-sign Fowler or get another leadoff man in CF and watch us kick ass all year.
