That last half inning presented the big problem with Baez hitting 8th. Cubs had 2nd/3rd, nobody out after Heyward roped a double to right (really). Baez K'd after flailing at junk. Darvish would K and Happ popped up.

Schwarber hit into a double play his 3rd AB but it took an incredible pick at 2nd and quick throw to barely get him.

I am beginning to be optimistic about how Kyle Schwarber is going to do this season (at least at the plate).

I don't know who this home plate ump is but he just called two balls strikes on Schwarber in the same at-bat.

Schwarber has been looking really, really good.

He definitely put in his work this offseason to get into better shape.  Looks like it's paying some dividends.

Hard not to be crazy optimistic about Schwarber this season.  It's just spring, though.

The issue is, with this lineup - who should?  It's a nice problem to have, but still a problem.  I'm inclined to agree that being the sort of hitter he is, Baez is a poor choice.  I'd be inclined to go Baez 7th, Russell 8th.

For his base running prowess, I might lean Baez 9th. Go Russell, P, Baez and then top of the order.

Happ, Contreras, and even Russell too. The top 6 in the lineup should be really good if they can come anywhere close to carrying their spring performance into the season.

Think Madden sees Russell as an RBI guy with big upside. Bet he's gonna hit 6th behind Schwarber against RHP.
