3-11 with RISP, I lost count of the runs.  Are we still struggling this game?

The Cubs put up 7 runs in an inning in which they go 3-5 w/ RISP and you think that's a case that it doesn't affect the game?

Baez is a triple away from the cycle in the best triples park in baseball, and he'll most likely get two more ABs. If he hits one to the wall, he's not stopping until he's on third base.

And if that happens, I expect he will try to turn it into an inside the park home run.  Maybe the coach will tackle him.

Montgomery still with only 2 Ks on the season. He has not looked good so far this year.

No.  I think the Cubs will have spells where they are good with RISP and where they are bad with RISP.  Like every other team in baseball.  I thinking harping on it is stupid.

Schwarber going the opposite way is nice to see.

Schwarber looks like a different hitter recently.

Cubs just keep hitting. After the Russell single in the 8th, the Cubs only need one more base runner for Javy to get another shot at the cycle in the 9th.

Cubs have seemed to have a lot of opposite-field hits today, and yesterday too, I think?  Not sure if that's mis-perception, coincidence, or conscious.

Fun to be getting lots, and lots, of hits.

And to be putting together a 2-game hitting streak.

Imagine a couple of good-hitting games might be kind of relaxing and good for confidence.

of course, Cubs are kind of boom-or-bust offensively, usually, so maybe tomorrow they'll get shutout.

Schwarber and Heyward both with groundball singles to the left side.  Schwarber's was hit fairly sharply , found a hole.  Heyward's was very weak.  Still, so many opportunities for singles against the shifts....

Fourteen opposite-field hits the last two games.

Almora doubles, his 4th hit, also to the opposite field.
