Cain steals a base without a throw when Contreras can't get the ball out of his glove, then Darvish gives up a sac fly.

This team needs to tighten up on defense.

A few too many pitches for Darvish, but he actually looks pretty good through 4 innings today (as opposed to his last couple of starts where he looked like he was just barely getting by early in the game).

The offense has gone into shutdown mode since the first inning ended.

Yeah, I thought the hitters might have a good day with this guy.  He's topping out at 86-87 and (at least in the 1st inning) leaving a lot of those center cut over the heart of the plate.

It's going to be unfortunate if runs score here and the narrative that Darvish can't pitch the 5th continues because he should've K'd Cain and been out of the inning.

Gets a weak grounder to end the inning, though. So all the bad umpiring cost the Cubs was about 5-6 extra pitches.
