Bryant has 15 at-bats with RISP the whole year.

Yeah, I know that's why I mentioned a small sample. But it's objectively true that he has not struggled there.

More sloppy play as Montgomery doesn't get over to first base quickly enough.

The Rockies are playing "elevate and celebrate", and the Cubs are hitting grounders.

Except for Zobrist, who is hitting fly balls to the track with the wind howling out.

Cubs haven't scored more than 3 runs in a game in a week.

I know it's early (particularly where the length of his contract is concerned), but when should we start to be concerned about Darvish (4.18 ERA, 1.42 WHIP)? Looking to Deeg for reassurance.  ;)

And for that matter, Montgomery (5.67 ERA, 1.8 WHIP)?

This was my frustration last night too.  Wind blowing out, get it in the air! But everything was on the ground.  Rizzo's homer last night was not hit that well, just up.

A lackluster uninspiring effort from what looked like a second division team.

Yu wished his stats looked that good.

Yu seems kind of empty-headed sometimes.  Two of the runs today results from Yu giveaways, right?  One time, he didn't cover 1B.  Free baserunner, extra out to play with.  Another, runner on 2nd with one out, Yu was clueless, the guy took a walking/running lead, Yu was clueless, and the guy ran over to 3B unrestrained; then scores on an infield bounce-out.
And then of course he walked guys early in innings twice, both of which ended up scoring.

He just doesn't seem to have much awareness.

Wasn't the story last fall that he was tipping pitches.  Maybe he still is.

I wonder if they might bring up Gimenez soon. Caratini is barely playing, so he'd probably benefit from more frequent ABs in AAA. And it's probably worth trying out a catcher who Darvish likes to work with in his next start.

Be a good idea to start playing quality baseball. Cubs have 10 games against the Reds, Marlins, and White Sox over the next two plus weeks as well as the set in St. Louis.

Didn't take long for Baez to go from the second spot to eighth.
