Happ's fanned his last three at-bats. 45 in 91 AB's now.

Do they still have a 13 run club anywhere?

Cubs win 13-4.  Bring on the 9-25 White Sox

Nothing like the Marlins as a cure for what ails you.  Guess the Cubs didn't get the memo that the season was over.

Nice to get the sweep.  1 run in 6 innings with wind blowing out is pretty effective day for Quintana.

Hopefully Rizzo is ready to hit the rest of the season at his usual effectiveness level.  Critical piece to have any consistency offensively.  4 games over .500.

Strike 3 to Hancock was nowhere close. Awful.

It was also a 3-2 pitch with the bases loaded...robbed him of an RBI.

Although there were 17 runs on 25 hits and 8 walks, the time of game was only 3:13.  Plate umpire Ted Barrett had no reason to be anything other than a professional.

The Cubs are due for Joe West and CB Bucknor.

Willson Contreras is now 4 for 6 in the last two games with a double, two triples, and a grand slam.

The Contreras home run was 107.6 mph off the bat and had a 24 degree launch angle. I think that type of contact usually goes for a longer home run than just landing in the basket.

Wind knocked it down...it was hit right on the screws...very similar to Addi's shot the other night...

I hadn't seen this before: you can show the results of a certain exit velocity and launch angle using this app:

https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statcast_field

A ball hit like Willson hit that has a 100% hit probability. It goes for a homer 95% of the time. So yeah, it seems like the fact it barely got out is due completely to wind.

Chatwood looks very good when he's throwing strikes.

Chatwood loses his command starting the third. 2 walks in a row.
