But at least they are tops in something.
FYI: 1-16 is the worst any team has batted with RISP in a game this season (min. 15 AB)

And even with that poor performance, they still could've won the game if not for a couple boneheaded baserunning mistakes. In the first inning with the bases loaded, Russell ran right into a tag on a softly hit grounder by Schwarber that turned into a double play. If Russell freezes and forces Gennett to throw the ball, the Cubs score a run and they win the game. In the 6th, with a runner at third, 2 outs, and Rizzo on first, Suarez made a diving play and threw a standing Rizzo out at second by inches. If Rizzo had slid into the base instead of going in standing, he's probably safe and the Cubs score a run. This goes along with the sloppiness on defense we've seen at time this year--sometimes, they just don't seem to have their heads in the game.
And it didn't necessarily cost them a run...but when David Hernandez came in for the 6th inning, Happ and Hendricks immediately tripled and doubled. But instead of going for the huge inning with a vulnerable pitcher on the mound, Almora inexplicably tried to bunt on the first pitch, popped out, and Hernandez seemed to settle in. It was another place where a Cubs player just seemed oblivious to the situation.
