That does increase the chances that Happ gets another try for a single to fill the cycle.

By the way, Rosario really looked good today.  I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to keep him up for a while.  Who can be sent down this afternoon?
How about Wilson?

The DirecTV Extra Innings channel guide lists only the Reds telecast for game 2.

How about Wilson?

I realize that you are just being a smartass, but he does have 2 options left.  Unfortunately, he can choose free agency if sent down.

But at least they are tops in something.

FYI: 1-16 is the worst any team has batted with RISP in a game this season (min. 15 AB)

https://twitter.com/ESPNChiCubs/status/997941572187672576

And even with that poor performance, they still could've won the game if not for a couple boneheaded baserunning mistakes. In the first inning with the bases loaded, Russell ran right into a tag on a softly hit grounder by Schwarber that turned into a double play. If Russell freezes and forces Gennett to throw the ball, the Cubs score a run and they win the game. In the 6th, with a runner at third, 2 outs, and Rizzo on first, Suarez made a diving play and threw a standing Rizzo out at second by inches. If Rizzo had slid into the base instead of going in standing, he's probably safe and the Cubs score a run. This goes along with the sloppiness on defense we've seen at time this year--sometimes, they just don't seem to have their heads in the game.

And it didn't necessarily cost them a run...but when David Hernandez came in for the 6th inning, Happ and Hendricks immediately tripled and doubled. But instead of going for the huge inning with a vulnerable pitcher on the mound, Almora inexplicably tried to bunt on the first pitch, popped out, and Hernandez seemed to settle in. It was another place where a Cubs player just seemed oblivious to the situation.

Actually his performances, with a couple of exceptions, warrants being sent down.  I'm not sure I'd lose sleep if he went FA.

If Wilson was sent down and he opted out, he’d lose the money he’s earning this year, right? I think he’d be looking at a big salary cut if he opted out.

I just spent 15 minutes on the phone with a DirecTV technical department guy whose first language is not English.  After trying to convince him that Extra Innings is not the NFL, he finally dug into something and said the Cubs broadcast will be on 740.  The channel guide does not show that yet.  We'll see.

740 is where game one was.  I'd be surprised if that is not what he was looking at.

Why is Zobrist not in the lineup for either game?

Zobrist is leading off in the second game.

Cubs have first and third, no outs in the first inning of game two.

Zobrist runs into an out at home on a grounder to third. More pretty dumb base running.

Wild pitch moves the runners to second and third.

LOL, sorry - skimmed right past his name.

Incidentally, in regards to the brawl that asshat pitcher basically admitted that he hit Baez because Baez got a GS off him last year.  That mindset is so utterly stupid.

Now Rizzo Ks swinging at a ball at eye level. 0 for 2 already with RISP in game two.
