Almora takes the last AB of the season against a RHP. Perfect, bad hitter against a pitcher he has no chance of hitting.

Season over.

5 game lead on September 2, then the Cubs went only 14-13 the rest of the way against mostly bad teams and their closest competitor. You can't tell me that they didn't choke this season away.

Fitting that the season ends with a 3 K inning...

Too many injuries this year. Hopefully Bryant will be healthy next year.

Great game.  Good season.

I think you'd call getting hit in the nuts enjoyable.

Sad thing is...even if almora doesn’t swing at that pitch, it’s still likely called a strike.

Well.

What do you say?

At least they were competitive this year.

We could be Oriole fans.

At least we're not the Orioles.

Needs to be a bumper sticker.

This team hasn't been fun to watch since the end of the 2016 World Series. Hopefully the front office really makes some changes this offseason.

The Cubs have been to 4 straight playoffs for the first time ever. The lost what should have been there best pitcher, closer, best position player to injuries. Rizzo sucked because of his back in the first half, Russell sucked because of injuries and then is likely gone because of suspension. This team still almost pulled off the best record in the NL until they had to play everyday for almost two months.  It freaking took Yelich impersonating Barry Bonds for the Brewers to catch the Cubs.

The Cubs are fine. I hope the add Harper or Machado, but the doom of some people on this board is rediculous.

Cubs go a modest 15-12 in their last 27 games, and they don't play tonight.
