Aside from the Urias homer early, Cubs really shut down Brewers offense. They never got a runner to 3B or a runner in scoring position with less than two outs. Cubs bullpen allowed one hit in five innings.

Cubs deserved to win this game. It doesn’t really matter that Brewers had the SP advantage. The way the game played out, Cubs did more than the other guy. Not a game where the loser gets bunch more baserunners but doesn’t cash in or freak stuff happens—-those are the games that feel like stole the game. Not this one.

They certainly deserved to win it, but early on it looked like this year's typical lifeless Cubs offense, and when Kimbrel walked that guy in the ninth I was having flashbacks to his 2019.  Hopefully Kimbrel is back to his old self this year and the hitters can step up a little from here on.

For those who didn’t see Willson’s HR, it was pretty spectacular.

I think it was 438 or so, to LCF...exit velocity in the 105-110 range...one of those where you say “Wow!” on contact...

And, like br said...the trot was epic...

The Cubs lineup is usually available three to four hours before game time.  It's now down to 2½ hours to go and no word.  Waiting for Covid testing results?
