Bote gets a hit down the left field line and two more runs come in before he gets tagged trying to stretch it into a double.

Cubs lead 12-3 going to the bottom of the eighth.  It will be a save situation if Nance finishes the game.

A scoreless ninth from Wieck, and the Cubs win 12-3.  Two games over .500, and only two games out of first place.

Mikolas leaves as he warms up to start the top of the 5th.  Ponce De Leon coming in.  Why don't they send out a backup catcher for his unlimited warmups instead of making Molina do it?

At least they gave him the dignity of using small letters for the "de" -- the Cardinals didn't use to do that; they wrote all capitals all the time, so instead of McGWIRE and McEWING they had MC GWIRE and MC EWING, which looked awful.

I hope Ponce de Leon pitches until he's in his 40s so that the announcers can start with the "fountain of youth" references.

After Joc strikes out swinging at a neck-high pitch, Bryant singles and Contreras walks on four pitches, so maybe we can get a rally going.  Rizzo coming up.
