The legend will grow.  In the future Javy grounded to third on purpose, knowing the throw would pull the first baseman off the bag, and if he timed it right, he could deek him back toward home.  The only thing he had to do was time his break for first.


BTW, did you notice that Javy ran into Craig?  Umpire should have called obstruction and given Javy the base.

Nobody knew what they were doing, which helped us all down the line.  Baez got to second on The Play, the umpire I guess was just a as confused as everybody else and was focused on Contreras slide.  Then the bloop single to score Baez.  You can’t make this stuff up.

To be honest, I don't see that as any great, creative, brilliant play by Javy.  Just multiply stupid by Craig.  Javy has some fun, being silly, and Craig was chilling until he saw Willson and suddenly panicked and freaked.  But yeah, Javy does have some knack for being in the middle of odd plays.

Giving the other team the chance to be stupid is kind of brilliant and creative in itself.

That Javy play broke baseball Twitter, pretty much.  People were trying to catalogue all the mistakes the Pirates made but they couldn't fit them all, even with the 280 character limit.

Unfortunately, MLBN and Marquee will both be blacked out for me, and I'll be stuck watching that new bumpkin that the Reds hired...

So glad Cincinnati is a regional team for the Memphis area...makes perfect sense!
