Interesting about the cutoff man.  He knows he probably will have to throw to home, so does he position himself in the outfield to make the catch and throw with that in mind?  Does he measure his ability and understand where he should position himself?

Yes, as he's waiting for the throw other infielders are telling him where to go with the ball.

It was a play any high schooler would make.  Very bad coaching decision

Wood's record might be in danger tonight.

Although 11 foul balls already is a big win all things considered.

9 batters, 8 K's for DeGrom.

Luckily we're in an era where they won't let him get near the 9th.

How many early exits has he had this year?  His arm can’t seem to tolerate throwing 100, maybe he should just dial it back to 97 and still be really amazing.

Has there ever been an advertising campaign worse than the one currently run out by Liberty Mutual?

This discussion is one of the reasons why baseball is such a great spectator sport.

It also shows why baserunners and balls being put in play and action happening on the field are all so much more exciting than seeing another boring home run fly over the fence.

Think Robert Stack could find home plate more often than Robert Stock, and he's dead.

Stock is wearing number 89.  That's the number of years the Cubs have been putting numbers on jerseys; they must be celebrating it.

Anybody want to guess how many people wore number 89 on all major league teams combined, since they started putting numbers on jerseys, before last season?

Cubs pitching has 20 walks in this series, thru 4th inning of game 3.

Beats me why Ross left Stock in after he walked the pitcher in 4th inning.

Ends inning with 79 pitches and two more runs.

The mets are being careful with him... why is that a bad thing. even with their care... he's umm the bestest SP in baseball in terms of WAR while pitching less then 80% of the innings of anyone else in the top 10...

Save him. just get to the playoffs...

Winfield played tight end before he concentrated on baseball.  Maybe he wore it.
