First base umpire has now had 3 calls reversed.  Good night.

I believe in fairly conservative pitch count management, generally.  But is it really necessary to pull a veteran after 94 pitches when he has a no-hitter going?  I suppose the theory is that he's not going to finish the game anyway.   

That's what I'm thinking.  A CG no-hitter is ideal, but if the starter isn't going to finish, there isn't much difference whether he only goes six or if he makes it through seven or eight.

A double play grounder from Muncy, and the Cubs are through the eighth.  Kimbrel to finish?

No, in case things go south I would “save” Kimbrel.  The win is all important, the combined no hitter is just a stat, but a real cool one.

Well Deeg, you were absolutely right.  8 combined walks and a combined no hitter.  First time in Cub history!  Holy Cow!

After getting swept by the Padres, this has got to be a real downer for the Dodgers.  Hope it lifts the Cubs.

Cheapened as they've become, a no-no is still pretty cool.

Also, Kimbrel right now is just- filthy doesn't do it justice.  Obscene?  Illegal?  10 hits and 52 KS in 30.1 IP - even at his best (which was among the best anyone has ever been) he's never been this dominant in terms of not giving up hits.
