If it was Houston or Indy, getting next years number 1 in return would be something to think about also.  This isn't a one year rebuild, and the Texans or Colts aren't being fixed with the number 1 overall pick either.  Likely going to be drafting high again next year.

That same sort of thinking goes with the cap too.  Don't tie up all that cap money in '23 that you are shorthanded in '24.

Bears will be selective with a handful of pricey FAs but there will again be a bunch of JAGs signed to one year deals.  There's just not that many guys signed for '23.
