Changeup and curve both look as advertised...then he gives up a solo HR on the fastball...just cleared the fence...

After a single to LF, Dixon Machado makes a great play at SS to start a 6-4-3.

He's been in the KBO the past few seasons...wasn't he highly regarded at one point while with Detroit?

Palencia pitched the 7th...he's the guy we got from Oakland in the Chafin deal...

Looked pretty good...I heard some reports last season about bad mound presence, hope that's not a concern going forward...

Yardley fails but the Cubs go on to win 7-3.  Dermody pitches the ninth.

For both teams the non-roster players seem to have jerseys with only numbers on the backs, but the rostered guys have names.  And among the number-only jerseys for our team, some have the numbers positioned so that a name can be inserted, and some don't.

I say dump the names altogether.  The Cubs should look like the traditional team that they are.

Two hitless innings for Steele.  We've got all these old roster-fill pitchers.  It would be sure be nice if somebody young who could be a part of things for 6 years would turn out to be solid.
