Darvish throws 19 pitches, 10 strikes, in the first inning. Two quick outs and then 2 walks before a deep fly to center by Souza. Hit 94-95-96 on radar gun. #Cubs

Darvish walks two more in the second and gets pulled with one out.  So walked four of the last six batters, 4 of the 8 he faced.  Cubs down 5-4 in the mid-innings.

He said he had trouble locating his off speed pitches, but his arm feels good and the velocity was excellent.  I'll take that for a first outing in almost a year.

LOL.  Apparently when asked why the interpreter is gone he said it was costing the club too much money.  Darvish got jokes.

Sharma is a no-bullshit guy, so his reading on Darvish is meaningful, seems to me.

Darvish done with one out in the 2nd. Walked 4, but allowed no hits. No strikeouts. He was sitting 94-95 with his fastball, touched 96. Seemed to use quite a bit of his arsenal. He wasn't disastrously wild, but clearly wasn't as sharp as he'd like. That's what the spring is for.

The Saturday game with the Brewers will be televised locally in Chicago on WGN at 2:00 P.M.   MLB.tv will also offer the WGN telecast at 2:00 P.M.

MLB Network coverage starts at 3:00 P.M.   Will it be on a one hour delayed basis or picked up live after the Mets/Astros game ends?

Chatwood isn't a strike thrower, but he looked a lot better in the 1 inning I saw.

Edwards is throwing with the pause in the game and is throwing strikes so far.

Giambrone seems like a good bet to play in the big leagues at some point.

Three scoreless innings for Chatwood and no walks. Nice.

Chatwood looking better is certainly a positive.  But it does force the vexing question of just what the heck you do with him once the season starts.
