Almora single, Caratini double,  Zo single has the Cubs up 2-0.

KB up with runners at the corners, no outs.

Caratini slammed the back of his head on the ground earlier in the game. He was down for a bit. I'm surprised he stayed in.

Depth at Catcher is probably not a bad idea.

Fergie Jenkins was interviewed on the Rangers Fox sports affiliate bottom 3rd.  Talked about his offseason with the Globetrotters, pitching 7 innings on 2 days rest, 4 man rotations, 267 complete games, never had a sore arm during his 19 seasons.

DeShields grand slam, 5-4 Rangers.

This team just refuses to attack hitters. They're going to nibble around the edges to everyone, and they're going to end up walking way too many batters. No excuse for walking Jeff Mathis before the grand slam.

Would you believe I was trying to decide between DeShields and Goodwin for my fantasy team today?  Crap

There have been 2,419 hitters to have at least 2,000 career plate appearances since 1900. Jeff Mathis has a wRC+ of 50, which ranks 2,412th. He's arguably the worst hitting position player ever. You don't have to be scared of attacking the zone when he's up.

I just don't get continuing to try to hit the edge of the zone that the umpire clearly wasn't giving him. Just trust your stuff and throw the ball in the middle of the strike zone.

Cubs score 4 in the 6th and now lead 8-5.

Chatwood was warming up, so he's probably coming in.
