The Quintana trade really was a poor choice.  The Heyward contract was/is a monstrous failure.  Darvish has been even worse.  I wonder if Theo bails on this team and leaves them in a mess like he did Boston.  Does Madden suffer the same inglorious end that Tito did?

Great teams usually hold on to their top prospects and move their middle tier (such as Ian Happ).

I still think the Quintana trade was the right move. He was on pace for a 4 fWAR season when the Cubs got him. In his previous four years, he had posted fWARs of 3.5, 5.0, 4.3, and 5.0. He was 28, durable, and had 3 1/2 years left on a cheap contract. He was an established strong #2/borderline ace, and the Cubs paid a fair price to get him.

They really needed Bryant to make enough contact to get that run home. Going to be tough to get 2 against Hader.

Wednesday and Thursday could both be washouts.  Too bad they can't move Wednesday night up to Tuesday.
