9 pitches in the 5th for Darvish, 8 balls, and another ball that was called a strike because the umpire felt sorry for him. Just awful.

How can a guy who had been so good his entire career suddenly be so bad?

And by the way, that was another 81 pitch start for a Cubs starter...just with drastically different results. 41 balls thrown today, up from 18 yesterday.

Problem is people keep thinking this. Darvish has basically had one excellent season and two good ones. The rest of the time he either hasn't been very good or he's been hurt.
