You know, I wasn't buying the juiced ball theory, but it's becoming easier to believe by the day.

Contreras hits a missile out to RCF. Sounded like he broke his bat...2 run shot...

14-4

Man can you imagine this board if the Cubs bullpen was actually as bad as the Nationals bullpen.

I am confident this season will cure our annual tendency to draw conclusions about the team, as well as individual players (such as Bryant) after a week or two into the season.  ;)

Montgomery keeps it going with a line single to center.

J-Hey, just hit it out so that Monty can jog in with a run.

If you listen closely, I think the Cubs broadcast caught a Maddon F-bomb after Montgomery went to 3-0 against Rendon.

Yes, if we score 14 every night I think the bullpen will be fine.

Kris Bryant is the second player in MLB history to homer in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings of the same game, per @EliasSports. (The other was J.D. Martinez.)

Lots of fun stuff in game tonight but strangest play was the Edwards pitch in the dirt that caroms off Contreras, right back to Edwards near the plate. Meanwhile, Contreras has no idea where ball is and he’s all the way to backstop while Edwards is running down Dozier from 3B. Contreras never made it back to plate until play was over. A very weird play.

The second Bryant homer was a sight to see. I was sitting behind Cubs dugout tonight and got to see the full path of the ball from the bat and all the way in the air to the stands. Amazing and a thrill when you can watch the entire path of a ball hit like that. Goosebumps, really. It’s the big leagues.

And, loved the easy swing of the Almora homer off Scherzer that was way, way, way gone. Almora has power, which I noticed watching him in batting practice couple years ago. Wonder if he’ll ever harness that consistently and hit 20-25 homers. Probably not, but he has the capability.
