They're right, the Cardinals do have the better team. The Cubs are a dysfunctional combination of players with a lot more talent than the Cardinals (and they've been that way for longer than just this season). The Cardinals have Flaherty, aging Goldschmidt, and a lot of non-star players who compliment each other enough to win this division.

The Brewers are going to win the division and have a better collection of players than either team.

The Brewers and their negative run differential. Good call, otto.

otto is forgetting that the Cardinals still get to play the Cubs 4 more times this season. The division is a lock

In the last two years, the Brewers have won the most games in the division.

To start this year we lost our closer. During season lost our top pitcher, another starting pitcher and reigning league MVP, yet...

The Cubs have massively underachieved for two years and are still 134 runs better than the Brewers in that time.

How many WINS are you behind?

And good luck with that aging pitching staff next year.

You can say the Cubs massively underachieved, but that is a meaningless statement after 150+ games.

You are who you are.

The Cubs didn't underachieve this year. They just weren't very good.

They had big holes last year, then they sat out the offseason. No one should be surprised that they still had all those holes this year.

The Brewers really aren't very good. To say that they're fortunate to be 15 over .500 with a negative run diff is putting it mildly.

Paul Sullivan has suggested moving up the start of the game,  Good idea.

Reading this thread, its like "Better win percentage Brewers 2019 = Better win percentage St. Louis 1980-2018".....I saw this last year...Cubs kept losing 1 run games to st Louis in sept
