We may start 0-4, but i wouldn't worry about this loss...Giants have more to worry about given the loss of their #1 CB!   Brutal!

NO game planning, whereas Giants blitzed etc.   Game was close until Peppers and Urlacher exited.

Cutler looked MUCH sharper than a year ago starting in Martz' offense and the O-line was ok.

Major Wright whiffed on a couple key runs...we STILL look weak at FS...but that shouldn't be news at this point.

Roy Williams sure looked crappy...sure hope he improves with more reps...if not, cut him!

We got KILLED on special teams, but none of us should reasonably expect that in the regular season.

Not a bad game overall...it's the freaking exhibition season.

You guys are hilarious.  Last season the Bears didn't win not ONE pre-season game but we were within a game of the Super Bowl.

This is pre-season.  I'm not going to fret until the regular season if they perform like this again.

Last year the bears beat only three teams with a winning record. See anything that will change that?

yeah, I'm still sore that we didn't appear to go all out to beat GB in that last game.

Clay Matthews suspension for HGH, and a 4th concussion for Rodgers...

I would agree that we're probably a better team than what we showed last night. But, some of that was brutal..

Here are my grades for last night.

STARTING OFFENSE - D
Cutler looks much better and the OL is rounding into form. That's about it for the positives. The air game was brutal...  Roy Williams and Hester failed multiple times each on clutch plays, and Knox and Kellen Davis were invisible. The much ballyhooed improved ground game was nowhere in evidence. Red zone playcalling and execution were both dreadful.

SCRUB OFFENSE - C-minus
They scored a TD, which is more than the starters could do. But our 2nd-team O-Linemen wouldn't even be on a good team's roster.

STARTING DEFENSE - C-minus
Marginally improved pass rush offset by terrible coverage and bad tackling. It doesn't appear we have anyone in the D-Backfield except Tillman who can cover and nobody but Tim Jennings that can tackle. Major Wright did not look like starting material and as much as I never thought I'd say it, I think we'll be missing Danieal Manning sooner than later.

SCRUB DEFENSE - F
We are really screwed if any of our D starters go down cause these guys are awful. Can't think of a single guy on this unit who really looked like he belonged on an NFL field. Okoye, maybe. Paea and Gholston were non-factors and Conte may have athleticism but he looks totally lost out there.

SPECIAL TEAMS - D
The only thing that keeps this from being lower is the 6 points from our FG unit.  Punting....  yikes. Neither of our P's have any leg, coverage was bad and the blocked punt was inexcusable.  Kickoff returns were a non-factor but I lay that on the NFL rule change more than our team.

BOTTOM LINE
Lazy, sloppy and embarrassing showing by a team that appears to have lost more good players than they've gained.

Is Roy at the Greyhound stop in Tulsa? On his way back to "the big D"? Getting a couple of breakfast burritos with mild sauce? And a coffee? What a Jamoke.

I can't see Cutler ever developing much chemistry with Roy Williams.  He (Roy) is completely untrustworthy.

With Greg Olsen gone and Earl Bennett apparently not in the starting rotation, Cutler is hosed anytime he needs a clutch reception.

How many series did Peppers play? Urlacher? Briggs? Chill out guys. These games are for evaluting players and not worrying about the score or winning. The big question mark going in was the o-line and they looked much better. It was only the 2nd game after a practically non-existant training camp and no off season meetings. Give the new guys time to gel before you wave the white flag.
