In a normal regular season game, the Bears would have likely taken a knee and Fewell wouldn't have been tempted to call a corner blitz with just a few ticks left in the 1st half that ultimately cost him a starting CB.

I sometimes feel like the Bears are like those old hollywood back sets, just fronts. Nothing in the back after you get past the front.

Exactly. Which is why respect for the Bears around the league is not high.

It really *****d me off when Martz called those two worthless plays to Hester down on the goal line. The first one he fell down and the second one he dropped even though the ball was perfectly placed.  At least one of those plays should have been a pass to Kellen Davis and I can only hope that's one of those plays they're keeping hidden for the regular season.

IMHO preseason is when you want to make that call to see if he can handle it.  Perfect call for the preseason game.  Now you know not to call those plays for that player during the regular season because that player can not execute that play.

That is what PREseason is for.  Finding out if it is going to work or not...

Yeah that makes sense.  Well based on Monday night's game there are a LOT of red zone plays in Martz' playbook that need to either be taken out, dramatically re-worked or run with other (better) players. There was a whole truckload of FAIL going on inside the 20.

I thought Love should have reviewed that Barber out of bounds play - looked like a TD to me.  And one of those red zone plays looked like a shovel pass play that could have worked but Bell might have screwed it up.  And Hanie on that roll out to the right side missed a wide open TE (Andre Smith?).

Nothing wrong with the playcalling...its just the execution.  Correctable.

I didn't think it was close enough to challenge but it may have just been the angle I saw.  I did appreciate the effort Barber gave on that play and maybe in a mid-season game the conditioning and focus is a little better and he stays in-bounds for the TD.

I would have done the same thing on the Barber play, the points didn't matter but a chance to get some short yardage practice in game like situations is hard to reproduce. Anything to get our O more plays in the preseason is a good thing.

You can try the link in this thread.  I have no idea if it works or not but I think he posts it every pre-season game.

They are streaming a game right now Steelers/Falcons but I think they will switch to the bears game.  It is a little fuzzy though.

Your welcome.

Can we cut Roy Williams?
