Partial dislocation not a full one.  No idea how long that means he is out.

I saw and could even hear the Saints Oline stoning our Dlinemen at times, the SMACK of pad against pad as they came in. I saw the Saints line dance guys coming in from the end around their QB gracefully, giving Brees enough time to do his magic. I saw too many times our tackles standing and whiffing on ends coming around. I saw their guards push right upfield on draw plays, moving our line up and out of the way. I saw our line collapsing in on the QB and flushing him out more than a few times. This line is a real problem folks! I would put the line issues as the main culprit very closely followed by lack of a big play wideout and Martz's foolish unbalanced play calling....like Grade F , D-, D- Really the problems are so closely intermixed together that one feeds off the other and makes one huge mess. COULD Cutler have gotten the ball to a top flight wideout with so little time? COULD they have gotten more time IF Martz had run it more? COULD the line block better with the other two deals working? Guess we won't know....

I have been royally ****ed since the summer, when the Bears had a golden opportunity to add a No. 1 receiver and once again passed.  I keep trying to tell myself that the experts surely know more than me.  Then I read something like this, and I get royally ****ed off again.  Seriously, you bring in Mike Martz as your offensive coordinator, you pay a king's ransom for a QB to operate in a 7 step-drop system, and then you go bargain hunting at WR?

A big time WR would be nice but I still would have to ask the question, IF we had a big time receiver what good would he be if the offensive line can't protect Cutler?   Cutler STILL needs time in the pocket to throw accurately downfield and without that we'd still be in the same shape we're in now.

Its been a long time since I have agreed with Phill but that Oline still stinks. Football is a game won or lost on the line of scrimage and thats where we lost that game, both offensively and defensively

The 2nd half was horrific, I haven't been to the board until today.  I am not reading all of the posts as it will just reopen the wound, I would expect a very inspired effort this Sunday.  Will it be enough?  We shall see.

You can bet we will see at least a 50/50 run/pass ratio though.  Of all the injuries, Carimi is the big one, heard he may be out two weeks.  Effing Martz must be watching something else during the game not to see the bludgeoning he was putting Cutler in to face.

Yes it did seem like the Saints O knew what D was coming.

I'm sure Kreutz had at least a little to do with that. But the bottom line is their OL whipped our DL mano a mano. Especially on the inside but that's what happens when you have Pro Bowlers at OG instead of a converted bad OT and a C playing out of postion.

Fair question.  If Cutler had a BIG time receiver and I emphasize BIG, he'd be more apt to throw the ball to the guy if he was blanketed in single coverage, figuring the guy has a very good chance of coming down with the ball.

He doesn't have that faith with Knox or Hester.  Maybe in certain situations with Bennett.  And the jury is still out about Roy Williams.

Once Cutler sees a man on Knox/Hester its game over.

Last year the Packers played that same tight coverage in the final regular season game and Knox didn't have a catch...Hester might have had one.  You saw the same thing Sunday.   The previous Sunday you saw the exact opposite with the Falcons and Cutler was hitting all his WRs with ease.

Looking back it's pretty obvious the Saints were in the Bear's huddle (thanks Olin). First half Cutler would drop back and see everyone covered. Martz's "system" is to throw to a spot. Saints were at those spots. So it goes.  Lovie needs to put the choker chain back on Martz and quietly start looking around for an OC that will allow the qb to think at the line.  This has gotten way past stupid.

If things dont turn around, and quick, how about we get rid of Lovie AND Martz?

Sure seems to me like Mike Tice has a lot better handle than Martz on what our offensive players are capable of doing (and not doing).

Not to mention, Tice played QB way back in the day so he knows what Cutler is going through.

Buy out Martz' contract the day after the Bucs game in London (which I expect will be a shi-bacle for the Bears), immediately promote Tice to OC and use the bye week to install a new offense that's heavy on the run game, the shotgun, rollouts and audibles.  It's a radical move but it may be the only chance Cutler has of surviving the season with the supporting cast he has. And the only way Lovie survives to coach another year here.

if Martz pulls in the reigns like last year and we get some guys healthy we'll be ok.
Good chance we lose again this week though.

Maybe we should wait a few more games and see what happens before we grab the life jackets.

Like I said, let's see where things stand at the bye week.

You look at the games between now and then...  Packers, Panthers, Lions, Vikings, Bucs...  all in conference and three in division.  We win 3 or 4 of those and we're 4-3 or 5-2 and still right in the thick of things. Drop 3 or 4 of them OTOH, and our season is effectively over in terms of the playoffs. You look at those opponents -- and the fact that we really don't know after 2 games what Bears team we have on our hands -- and either of those scenarios seems equally likely at this point.

I'm just saying if we're 3-4 or 2-5 at the bye week -- and if those losses are primarily because of a bad offense -- it will be time to pursue major changes in the direction of the offense and that should not preclude the "nuclear option", i.e., launching Martz.

After week 2?  IF we beat Green Bay you'll be talking about Super Bowl.

It's a long season.
