There's Greg Jennings...and then there's everbody else.   Put Knox opposite Jennings and he'd do well.

The lack of a running game is just putting too much pressure on Cutler and the wideouts.  Maybe the return of Bennett and eventual return to health of Roy Williams will help the passing game but I don't know what can improve the run game.  Lance Louis should be back next week and we should see more success when he pulls but I don't think he's a guy that can open big holes up the middle.

And I think we're missing the run blocking of Carimi more than his pass blocking - I thought Omiyale did as well as could be expected blocking one on one most of the day on Matthews.  Just has to eliminate those two motion penalties he gets every game.

I think the absence of Bennett is hurting our offense even more than the losses of Louis and Carimi.

Earl Bennett is the only WR on our roster of any size who can be counted on to get open and make a contested catch in a clutch situation.

Without him to account for, opposing defenses can sell-out against the run with very little risk. Once you make our offense one-dimensional (which happened very early in the Packers game), we're at your mercy cause like Dallas said, our remaining WRs are not up to that challenge.

If you don't have great run blocking then you had better have an insanely good passing game (e.g., the Marino era Dolphins or the Packers of last season). Unfortunately, minus Carimi and Bennett, we have neither.

As for Knox, he had better pick it up soon or he will find himself giving way to Sanzenbacher, who has 1/10th the physical ability but 10 times the feel for the offense and will go all-out for every catch.

That Knox drop cause he was hearing footsteps probably made me more mad then any other play.

Hey Knox you are going to get hit wether you catch it or not so you might as well catch it.  Dumb ass!

Oh and then he rolled around on the ground like he was hurt as if that would give him an excuse for dropping the ball that he dropped before he even got hit.

So far this year pretty disappointing.

I guess we can't be surprised to lose to the Pack as they are beating everbody lately.

I expected our offence to have its **** together much more this year after a full training camp.  After making steady progress last year, this step backward is alarming.

Dropped passes, overthrows, pass rushers not accounted for, false starts......the Bears are not in focus and ready to play.

I will give some credit to shoring up the pass blocking somewhat yesterday, but clearly we have multiple OL not NFL ready.

Finally, I'm not so sure I like this "no frills" defense that just plays straight up with no strategy.

Can't we try to screw up the offense once in awhile with zone blitzes, dropping the unexpected guy into coverage, mess with their blocking assignments a little?

Agreed.  Brees and Rodgers are two of the most accurate passers in the NFL and not blitzing them is suicide.

The Bears defense suffered the death of 1,000 cuts.  With them guys you have to sprinkle in blitzes and get there.

Plus we know they are throwing quick so why aren't our DB's jumping routes?  Wish our defense could get the free pass to interfere with WR's the way the Saints and Packers D does.

Wonder what this team would look like with Bennett and Barber in the mix?

And Carimi back? Hopefully we shall see this season.  ???

JJ "dislocated kneecap" remember? Columbo was YEARS before he got into playing shape again. Carmni - eh I hope not. Betcha the Bears could run a hell of alot better with him in. I'm at a loss why the Bears keep what seems like 10,000 DL and like 4 OL on the roster. Astoundingly blind.

Either they clean it up ... or the McCaskys with any brains ... fire them all.

BEARS are streaky ... one year up ...one year down ...

 this keeps owners bought off.

Wanna look at a solid building project?

The class act clowns of the NFC North ...

 DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETROIT Lions.

And they did it in how many years?

Heck yea I'd give Randy Moss a call -up! In 60 nanoseconds! He's miles better than ANYTHING we've got! That would be one huge missing piece in this puzzle. The other would be someone(s) for the Oline. This is the must have second part.....

Capers pulled some 'creative' stuff yesterday. Saw him drop 8 into coverage a couple times. Cutler needs to do more also than call a TO when he sees something he doesn't like. That's a waste. I'm definately not liking what I'm seeing out there. There's so much disarray that needs fixing.

Martz' personality and the gimmicky nature of his scheme have totally emasculated this offense.

Time was, even when the Bears lacked talent they would line up and hit you in the mouth every play.  Those days are long gone. The offense has no identity, no confidence and is soft as a marshmallow. Knox is the most glaring example of that but there are others too.
