This is one bizarre season....I have not a clue what they're gonna do in London next. They've got to be reeeal interesting for the Vegas crowd to bet on.

Finally Martz runs the 6-7 man protections.

The question is why he wouldn't do it against New orleans and Detroit.

Williams Webb and louis had their best games.

Conte and Wright maybe weren't tested a lot but played well.

Uhhhh ... if we had DRAFTED to protect the FRANCHISE QB ...

we wouldnt need to have 7-8 studs BLOCKING.

Any GOOD OL would have at most 6.

Which frees up a HELLOVA LOT more for CUTLER to throw or hand off to.

But thats neither here nor there ...

the more you keep BACK to BLOCK for an OL that is suspect is the MORE LESS targets CUTLER can go to.

Nope. No Superbowl that way. You can beat Minnie who is 1-5. The rest is BUUUUULSHIT.

 You know it.

You are partially right.

Yes, the OL should have better talent through better drafting.

But,
Every other team in the league runs max protect when the defense is committed to attacking the QB.

Loved that game. They jumped on the Queens early and never let them in the game. Very unusually good for the Bears.

My question is why does it take 6 games for them to finally play football? Is it because camp Lovie doesnt stress fundamentals? I just find it very strange.

Now beings we are 3-3 and 4 games behind GB (they own the tie breaker) I dont believe we have a playoff prayer.

I expect we'll need to be about 11-5 to get the wildcard this year.
I doubt we catch GB.
I have a feeling the Lions while being very talented are going to lose several more games this year.
They had several games already they should have lost and they have a pretty tough schedule.

I think the way we played last night we can beat anyone.

I also don't get how Peppers can get put in a headlock and holding is not called.

I know some holding happens every game and likely every play but when it is that obvious against one of the best in the league.
Peppers would have had like 5 sacks last night if it weren't for holding.

As expected, the Bears O-line were able to do a good job holding off the Vikings vaunted pass rush.    What wasn't expected were he holes the line opened up for Forte against a Vikings D that was 4th in the NFL against the run.

Webb held his own against the top pass rusher in the NFL but Louis totally shut down Robison.  As long as Spencer can play with that bad hand Louis' play could give Carimi an extra week with the bye to heal.

Not only did Martz have a nice run/pass mix he finally called a long pass play that Cutler could execute with Hester.  About time.

Defensively, having Peppers in there makes a big difference.  Conte and Wright did OK too - Conte's not a bad tackler for a college corner.

And Stephen Paea surprised a few folks here who labeled him a wasted draft pick before he played on NFL down.  Typical.

Cutler was able to step into some throws.  That was nice to see him have some protection and what he is able to acoomplish with some confidence in his line.  Also good to see him scolding his WR's for not making easy catches.  Hester heard in and Sanzenbacher heard it on the occasions I saw.  they were both big 2nd or 3rd down conversions for a first that got dropped.  the mic even picked up something coming from out of the huddle that I couldn't fully understand after Hester dropped a long 2nd down conversion.  I think he yelled, "catch the fuking ball" as they were breaking the huddle.

dallas, Cutler said on that play Hester was basicly in there to run off the defense and open up things for the other WR's.  But when he saw he had time and Hester had his man beat he went to him.

It shouldn't be no big deal with the guys who said he can't play WR.  Some here said he's worthless at that position so I'm sure they're not gagging at him not playing the spot if he's too injured to play.
