I was thinking about Kevin White also.  He was in uniform on the sidelines but i didnt notice him get in on any plays.

Kevin White got 2 plays Monday night.   Yet they put in Simms and split him out on a number of plays - like he's gonna draw the focus of the defense.

White is a short term insurance policy right now.    Right now there focusing Trubisky on his high price toys:  Robinson, Gabriel, and Burton and can't afford a few plays to White.

We controlled TOP 34/25 against Seattle.  That is pretty good.  33/26 against the Pack.  So while the offense isn't rolling up huge points yet, it is keeping the defense more fresh.

I'd like to see the second half break down of those numbers...particularly in the 4Q.

Fair catching that ball on the 4, that's like high school stuff. He should know to never do that. Really puts the O in a hole and with this O presently, every yard matters. Don't know if the Bears are fed up with White or what but he definitely isn't getting much playing time. Things need to change on offense or we'll have a familiar scene of the D getting ticked at the O for not performing up to expectations.....

Will they make it three games in a row with an opening drive TD this weekend?  It's nice to get 7 on that first drive.

I recall the 3rd down play that Smith got engulfed by Sweezey and overall my impression after the game was that Smith had a so-so game.  But then I watched some of the Trib's isolations on his tackles and realized that when Smith tackles somebody he's down...right there.

I wonder how good he's going to be when he knows all the plays and gets a little more NFL game experience under his belt.

Ran into an old Bears fan from way back....nfoligno.  We both got stuck under the stadium (lookup Allen High School) during a rain delay at a high school football game last night.  Both our kids are HS juniors.

We agreed on most everything about the last 2 games especially the need to emphasize Howard more in the offense.  We disagreed on one thing though.

Kevin White.

Yeah they are saying that Smith hits with a thud, and I think once he gets into game shape he is going to shine.  Which really ticks me off that the douche held out of TC.....

We don't know the details of the contract discussion but you do know that Mack held out of OTAs AND training camp - is he a douche too?

On the bright side - Smith really reduced his chances of a serious injury by missing all that practice and preseason game time.

Rookie mistakes:

https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2018/09/19/roquan-smith-made-rookie-mistakes-in-1st-start-vs-seahawks/

Good analysis.

I expect Smith to move ahead quickly.  His weakness was always going to be taking on blockers at 230 pounds.
Maybe in the offseason he'll put on ten pounds.  Most rookies hit the weight room as their college physique is not an NFL physique.

Nfoligno ever consider coming back to the boards?
