I keep wondering why Kevin White isnt getting any targets.  Not really complaining, he is doing the dirty work blocking, and doing a good job, but are his routes that bad or what?  Or maybe they dont want him to get hurt by catching a ball and running with it?

Oh. My. God. Wasn't expecting that.

Just finished watching the whole game (I get snippets because I redzone on Sunday and watch the Bears full with Gamepass afterward).

We now know Trubs ceiling (can't get much higher than he did). We've seen some of his floor the previous 3 weeks. Lets see how the bye week goes and if they come out firing in Miami (a place the Bears seem to always not do too well).....

Its become so common that it will be newsworthy if Mack has a game where he does NOT make at least one impact play in a game. He had some of those games in Oakland but I think the talent around him is much more able to pick up the slack (and considering Mack will always be double and triple teamed he may not have a highlight play because he is helping others have highlight plays). Stay healthy, young man. You are 1st ballot HOF for sure....

Hell even Tolliver came in and they did not seem to miss the Prince. I think the Bucs were picking on him (had a lot of tackles) as the weak link and he wasn't.

Team Checklist:
1. Beat the bad teams you should beat. Check. (this week and last week)
2. Beat the teams on your same level. Check (Seahawks).
3. Beat the teams that are above your level. Almost a check except for a terrible 4th quarter. Needs work....

Two out of three so far.... :D

Just enjoy the ride. We have some greatness occurring before our very eyes......

Go Bears !

All week long we heard Nagy saying they were going to make the offense simpler.  That may have been part of the reason for the success.  Not a whole lot of short and sideways pass patterns needed against the Bucs.

Bears O-line did a fantastic job of keeping the Bucs off Trubisky so the receivers had time to get open downfield.  And when they didn't Trubisky has the legs to pick up some nice gains.

Bucs pass defense is one of the worst in the league.  There's no Lynch and Rhonde Barber back there.

And Bears did a great job of finding Cohen in space...like 20 or 30 yards downfield with space.

After scoring so many pts in the first half, why so few in the 2nd?

No need to run up the score.

Tampa came out the second half running the ball more to kill the clock.  It was clear they had no stomach for attempting a comeback.  The bears responded with the same.

The great part about Hicks (Maybe) getting suspended is there are other players to step up. Next man up!

Lynch needs more time on the field.

Nichols looks like he could be a beast.

How is Roquan Smith playing? I listened to some of the game on XM radio but only heard his name called once where he got blocked on a blitz.

Last time I recall this happening was when Walter Payton got thrown out of a game for touching a ref.  Walter always liked to reach forward as he was falling down to get that extra half yard.  He did it against the Falcons one game and the ref for some reason called it a fumble (no replay back then).

So the ref is explaining the call to the crowd and Walter runs up to him and tugs on his arm to get his attention to plead his case.  Ref immediately throws the flag and announces that 34 is ejected for touching a ref.  Total BS - the fumble and the ejection.

Yesterday the cameras didn't have a real good picture of the fracas since the real play was way on the other side of the field.  I'm sure the media will get to the bottom of it.

Good news:  Bears didn't need him in the 2nd half and Bilal Nichols got more playing time and is rapidly developing into a steal of a 5th round pick.

Bad news:  Hicks gets suspended and if Akeem has a Roquan Smith contract clause that says he doesn't get paid for getting ejected then he's going to miss some game pay.

Hicks bumped the ref with his stomache/chest.  It was stupid and on him.

Too bad for Sam, a great guy, but this year he's been pretty much relegated to special teams only.  Bears now get to see more of Irving and Fitts.  Lynch's solid showing so far probably means he'll be going on the market at the end of the season.

What up with Tolliver?

I thought Roquon Smith was below average. Missed some tackles and was pretty poor in coverage.....missing training camp really hurt him. He made some tackles.

I like Unrein as a person, but he was blocking development and playing time of Bullard.  Line is much more productive... obviously Mack, but I think the talent and depth is greatly improved with Bullard, RRH, and Nichols.  Last season it seemed like Hicks was on the field way too much to stay productive and risking health.  Glad to see this depth.
