You see it every pass play.  The DBs crowding our receivers running step for step with them.  No cushion.

I really like Alan Robinson.  He's a very good possession receiver.  Great hands, great body control, but he's maybe a 4.6 guy.  Our speed receiver Taylor Gabriel just isn't producing.  10 yards a catch last year and only 2 scores on his 67 catches.  He's extremely fast but at 5-7 he doesn't have much of a catch radius.  This year 3 catches.  That's ridiculous for a starting receiver in the NFL today.  Not all his fault but that needs to improve.

There's something wrong with Anthony Miller that's not being shared (but I'm sure our opponents know).   He needs to get healthy or Bears need to start targeting Wims.  Wims has dominated in PS the last 2 years.  He's huge and can win those 50/50 balls and his speed is pretty good.

That's why I was all excited about the two FAs signed this offseason named named Hall - they were fast guys, but for whatever reason weren't good receivers and got cut.

Maybe the Bears need to face some really bad corners - cuz the ones we've seen so far have been shutting them down.

Green Bay played a dime the whole time and it shut our receivers down completely. We have no running game so that was super smart.

I watched highlights of Lamar jackson today on NFLN.  For what it is worth, it was against the Dolphins.  The Dolphins did a real soft rush where they waited for him to run.  I would say he had an easy unharassed 5 - 6 seconds per throw.  Of course you are going to find people... and they were wide open.  Allen Robinson, middle of the field for 25, open

After listening to that depressing Lombardi interview, I am thinking that now that the defenses the next few weeks (Queens notwithstanding) are not as tough, I want to see Mitch run more to throw or chew up some yards.  That is what he does best and when he is the most accurate.  The Bears do not have the time to develop him as a pocket passer and will have to trust Mitch not get himself hurt when he rushes.  But maybe if he gains some confidence on the run or moving up away from the pass rush completing passes to the WRs like the last play of the game, maybe his game in the pocket will improve.  just grasping straws here...

Not sure what Lombardi interview you're talking about but he has hated Trubisky from the beginning.  Trubisky seems at his best when the game is in his hands.  Let him run to the point the defense has to dedicate a spy

Yeah I know Filene's Basement and all that.  What Nagy needs to do now is find a way for Mitch to use his legs even though teams are setting the edge to prevent the edge runs and force him to "play QB."  Interior blocking is essential to allow Mitch to buy time in the pocket by side stepping or moving up in the pocket and complete some passes.  Once that happens then opportunities will open up for Mitch to run or throw on the run.  Maybe more play action will be called based on Nagy's willingness to lean on the run for whole drives.

They've shown a few times now where our recievers are getting open but Trubisky ain't seeing them or he's late with the ball and the defender has closed. This isn't just the recievers fault...

davebear makes a good point. Trubisky and the offense were more dangerous when Mitch would run the ball more freely. That's the one aspect defenses have a hard time defending. Opens up other options. Nagy run Trubisky. Designed runs and run options, keep the defense on their heels. Just don't run like Jim McMahon with reckless abandon. That'll shorten your career although it's admirable. I loved Jim's competitiveness!

Nope. Asked the wife if she wanted to go. She’s a dead skins fan. She said she would rather watch it at home and I agreed. FedEx field is a **** dump.
