My only complaint about yesterday is that there sure wer a lot of receivers and backs running sideways when they were close to a first down.

I’ve spent a decent amount of time in the gym and reading about bodybuilding, powerlifting and fitness. A great deal of having visibly defined muscles is diet and the type of lifting you do. Most guys competing in power lifting competitions look nothing like the guys bodybuilding. They usually look pretty “fluffy”.

In reading some of Mark Rippetoe’s work, he claims to reach your peak strength, you need to eat a little more as it is impossible to build strength (outside of newb gains) unless you are in caloric excess.

Kwiatowski was sometimes replaced on passing downs when he wasn't blitzing by Kevin Pierre-Louis (#57).  Though I only saw him for a few plays that cat can move and hit.  He's ahead of last 2018 draft pick Joel Iyiegbuniwe on the depth chart at ILB.

Trevathan and Kwiatowski are both FAs at year end.

Just when I start thinking about replacing Amukamora next year he has a game like he did Sunday.

Glad Wims got some targets.  Was Ridley active?   Bears need to be rotating multiple receivers into games instead of just using the standard 3.

Thoughts from the game:

1. Daniels was an excellent game manager. He did what we need to win - and did not turn the  ball over. He got rid of the ball quickly and was super confident throwing. He KNOWS the offense - I do not think Mitch understands the O.
2. If Mitch tucks the ball away and takes the loss he is still playing - I am still pissed he did not get MAJOR preseason minutes - guess what, he is now hurt.
3. Defense was amazing and our D is super deep - we have a lot of linebackers who can step up.
4. Nick Williams - your table is ready - great game. Next man up.
5. I don't remember them calling Fueller or Amukamura's name once - that's a good thing.
6. Montgomery needs MORE carries in a game. Seems like they wanted to get Cohen the ball more.
7. The line play was better.

My point on Long wasnt that he wasnt cut, as I would never expect a lineman to be.  My point was look at his chest, his arms look big and strong but his pecs look flat and deflated.  Like he hasnt been lifting in a long time.

Daniel, who many here wanted to cut in the preseason, seemed much more decisive than Mitch.  His short/intermediate throws were on target and had good velocity.

Daniel's game may suffer if the pocket deteriorates - he's not nearly as mobile as Mitch but he seems to have a better sense of pressure and gets rid of the ball prior to getting sacked.

Bears are better off with Mitch but Daniel can win you some games as a reliever.  Remember last year when he beat Detroit but lost to the lowly Giants.  Vikings were not ready for Daniel but the Raiders will be.

I'm always amazed how well the Bears DB's cover Vikings WR's who are quite good.

According to one sportswriter when the Bears gave Whitehair a lot of money it meant they won't resign Long and Amakamura.
