To unfortunately quote Porky Pig "thats a a a a all Folks".....

We can **** on the D but they gave up only enough points that with a competent NFLoffense would have made this a Bears win. (you hold a team under 20 points in a league where the average per game score is generally over that)....

Enough Cohen side to side. Enough with Patterson at RB (and why the **** is he always running out of the endzone on kickoffs ? This Offense is so putrid that 5 yard difference between the 20 and 25 is magnified)......

Fire Helfrich, Tabor, Heistand and move on. Especially the Hiestand. The Oline is a joke and only keeps getting worse. He was supposed to be a good Oline coach. WTH happened to him ?

Ditch the RPO. Trubisky is too stupid (or slow mentally) to run it. The Oline is too incompetent to block for it. Run max protect every play and run/pass from it. Results couldn't be much worse....

Dump useless players (Shaheen, Davis) and try someone (anyone) from the practice squad. Hell, one of those electronic remote dummies they use for practice would be better than either of those 2 stiffs.

Two questions I'd have liked to as Nagy after the game:

"Was it an option to run up the middle with no timeouts just before the end of the 1st half ? And if so WHY was it even an option ?"

"Why with a TO in your pocket do you take a knee at the end of the game for the FG attempt when you can instead run that stupid play you ran at the end of the 1st half and at least gain 1/2 yard ?"

Oh and check the drinking water coming into Halas Hall for heavy metals........

Heistand def has to go. This line is simply terrible and it ain't improving. And I agree on the other firings as well. There has to be accountability with a mess like this.
Also agree with the RPO. Yesterday was exhibit one on that having to go. Almost had a turnover attempting it on one go.
Cohen has been a mess as well. How many times is this kid going to catch a kicked ball inside the 10yrd line? He didn't do it yesterday but has all season long. And his sideline to sideline runs instead of north/south show a lack of coaching and accountability. Try that with Belichick and your butt would be riding the pine for a week or more.
I'm just going to keep agreeing with you on Shaheen and Davis, both of whom are worthless. Shaheen was a terrible waste of a pick from the get go. You NEVER get a 'project' with a 2nd round pick! This is where you get someone who can immediately help the team. Another blown pick from Pace.
And Nagys play calling is most definitely suspect.

Unfortunately there's still half a season of despair and disappointment to go......

It seems for the last few years that when the Bears lose all the other teams in the Division get wins. There is a curse on this franchise. Bad mojo. Bad voodoo.....

To take a look at where this franchise has gone since winning SB 20, all you have to do is look at the goddamn Patriots. It may be blasphemy but If we could go back in time and take a blow out loss for the sustained success they've had since then (some ups and downs but more ups that us) I'd take that in a skinny minute....

But I'll watch this train wreck as it augers into the ground after falling off the bridge....

I must be a masochist :D

I understand why Nagy let the clock run at the end of the game rather than trying to get a few more yards. This was a 43 yarder, obviously not a gimme. Why not (as someone already mentioned) run the same stupid play you ran at the end of the first half, or anything, never know, maybe get another 5 yards. Of course, Pineiro missed a 32 yarder earlier.. Fukking train wreck... Meanwhile, Packers are 7-1.. Fukk!!!!

Wasn’t Heistand our Oline coach a few years ago when our line was pretty good? Seems like he took Olin Kreutz, John Tait and a bunch of nobodies and that team ended up in the Super Bowl. Wasn’t our oline pretty good last year? Something like 2 pro bowlers? The first time we had two pro bowl oline members since.....2006 when he was here last time.

I cannot understand how you take an offense that should be better than it was a year ago and stink this bad. Heistand swapped 2 guys to their more natural positions and Long is on IR like he has been like the past 4 seasons.

Maybe Daniels just can’t pick up the reads or something like Whitehair could, I dunno but they shouldn’t be this bad.

Maybe they should put Whitehair back at center. I'd give it a shot, heck, at this point. Right now that line is a dumpster fire with no direction or evidently blocking skills or assignments. They ran blocked better yesterday but they could not get the ball in on a poor run defense team at the goal line. Inexcusable.

Yes he did.  He caught one at the 2 yard line and ran it back to the 30 or something like that.  That is probably why you don't remember.  Patterson keeps running kickoffs out of the endzone as well.

Here it was...

Punt
(12:42) (Punt formation) T.Long punts 54 yards to CHI 2, Center-C.Mazza. T.Cohen to CHI 26 for 24 yards (B.Facyson).

I think the thing that hurts this time around is there is no benefit to losing. They don't have a first round pick, so losing helps nothing. So not only are they losing but there's no benefit to it. What a mess this team is....

This team is not bereft of talent, unlike former Bear's teams.  The defense is missing Hicks, perhaps the scheme is just a bit passive or at a minimum, I don't see Eddie Jackson on the screen because he is 20 yards off the line of scrimmage.  The offensive mess starts with Nagy, and his stubbornness to play his brand of football and not taking the pieces he has and making those work.  Mitch is flawed, but as he showed this past Sunday, he can make the throws.  All QB's miss throws, and the long ball was critical, but watch any game and you will see QBs missing throws. Mitch shows flashes.  It is Nagy's job to turn that into consistency and throw out the library.

Now is the time to grind.  Go 1-0.  Then try to go 1=0 again.  I am not saying a miracle is in this team, but this isn't like watching the hapless teams of Trestman before we took the field.

Grizz,

I agree.  This team can win where others just couldn't.  They just have to start doing it.

That's just the thing, though....how does this get turned around?? It isn't a dearth of talent, it's....I don't know what's causing this honestly. Attitude or lack of? Laziness? What causes a offensive line to suddenly look like the keystone kops, blocking themselves instead of the opponent?? How does Trubisky end up playing worse and not improving?? Why does Nagy call stupid play calls at the worst times?? It just seems like they're going through the motions out there. It's baffling. We're supposed to have a offensive line mastermind in Heistand. Where is he and why isn't his line playing right?? I just don't get this....  One thing I would try, though, is putting the line back to where it was last season, with Whitehair under center. Maybe the center is calling the wrong scheme. Somethings gotta change here...

I really think that this falls on Nagy.  His play calling stinks.  Look at that third quarter TD drive.  9 out of 13 plays run from the I formation.  TD.  Did you see all 5 OL surround Nagy after the TD and tell him to keep it up?  Then what did he do?  No I formation, and run from shotgun.  Dude, try not to get cute, dont try and force the players to do what they dont do well.  They get pisssed off, and stop trying, and when the O is ineffective, the D senses it and they stop trying.  Look at Macks production the last 3 games.  And Eddie Jackson who has been invisible.  Just call the plays the players can execute, and dont get all cutesy with Santas Sleigh and all that other craap.
